Vodafone counters Jio's Happy New Year plans, offers 1GB 4G data daily with unlimited calling at Rs 198

Vodafone's Rs 198 prepaid plan offers 1GB of 4G data per day with unlimited calling and free 100 SMSes daily. The recharge is only available for the telcos' existing customers and new members will need to recharge with Rs 229 plan for availing the same benefits.

Vodafone counters Jio’s Happy New Year plans, offers 1GB 4G data...

Vodafone has introduced two new plans priced at Rs 198 and Rs 229 for its prepaid customers. Both recharge plans offer the same benefits, however, It should be noted that the Rs 198 recharge is only valid for existing Vodafone customers whereas new subscribers will need to recharge with the Rs 229 plan. 

Under the new prepaid plans, users will get 1GB of 4G data daily and unlimited local and STD calls with free national roaming. The plans offer 100 free national SMSes per day and is valid for 28 days. Avneesh Khosla, Associate Director of Consumer Business, Vodafone India said, “At Vodafone, we have always believed in providing the best value to our customers.We are delighted to announce the launch of our new plan, that we believe, will help our customers remain connected, both through voice and data, in a completely worry free manner. With 1GB data per day and unlimited calling, the plans will take care of all their communication needs.”

This move by Vodafone comes after Reliance Jio introduced two new prepaid recharges under the "Happy New Year 2018" plans. Priced at Rs 199 and Rs 299, the Jio plans offer 1.2GB and 2GB of daily 4G data respectively. Users will also get free national calls and texts along with unrestricted access to Jio’s suite of apps like JioChat, JioCinema, JioTV, and more. Additionally, after exhausting the daily limit, one will still get the unlimited data benefits at a reduced speed of 128 Kbps. You can read more about the new Jio plans here.
