Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 5 Pro in February this year, and recently, the company announced that it will soon roll out the MIUI 10 ROM in to select number of phones, including the Redmi Note 5 Pro. The best thing about Xiaomi phones -- which run on Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC -- is the availability of numerous custom ROMs allowing users to opt out of MIUI atop Android OS. Now, LineageOS 15.1 has also been made available officially for the Redmi Note 5 Pro. A report claims that this version has loads of feature sans the bloatware that MIUI has.
LineageOS 15.1 version is based on Android 8.1 Oreo and includes features such as picture-in-picture mode, Autofill apps, notification channels/snoozing, and native support for theming. The latest ROM also brings features like Privacy Guard, Live Display, Button/Gesture customization, and stock apps such as the Eleven Music Player and Snap Camera. To install the update on the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro devices, users have to first download TWRP which is a mandatory tool to install a custom ROM. You can download the official LineageOS version 15.1 and TWRP for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro here.
Earlier this month, the official LineageOS 15.1 was released for a bunch of devices, including the Xiaomi Mi A1, multiple variants of Samsung Galaxy S5, ASUS ZenFone 2 Laser, ASUS ZenFone 2 Selfie, Sony Xperia XA2, Lenovo P2, OPPO R5, OPPO R5s, OPPO R7 Plus and OPPO R7s.
