Samsung has launched the Galaxy M20 smartphone in India which is part of the M-series of phones. The series is aimed at competing with the likes of Xiaomi, Honor, Realme and Asus series of phones in the budget/mid-range segment. The smartphone comes with a 6.3-inch Infinity V display, octa-core Exynos processor, and 3 GB / 4GB RAM. It is backed by a 5000 mAh battery. It runs on Android 8.1 out of the box. It features a dual rear camera setup and a front 8 MP selfie camera.
The company has also launched the Samsung Galaxy M10 under the series. The M10 looks similar in design and is powered by an Exynos octa-core processor and runs on Android 8.1. Samsung Galaxy M20 supports a waterdrop-style 'Infinity-V' notch at the top of the screen that houses the front selfie camera on the phone. It has a 6.3 display screen with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio and rounded corners. It has a screen resolution is 1080 x 2340 pixels with a density of 409ppi.
The phone has a 3.5mm audio socket on the bottom, and the power and volume buttons are placed on the right of the device. In the box, you get a 15W charger and USB Type-C cable, a SIM eject pin, along with the handset. Its dimensions are 156.4 x 74.5 x 8.8 mm and the phone weighs 186 grams.
The phone has a dual rear camera setup which includes a 13 MP primary rear camera with an f/1.9 aperture, a secondary 5 MP sensor with a 120-degree field of view. The phone has an 8 MP front selfie camera for clicking images and video calling. The phone supports LED flash, panorama, and HDR. The Exynos 7904 processor enables improved images for users, says Samsung.
The M20 is powered by an Exynos 7904 processor which features two high-performance ARM Cortex-A73 cores running at 1.8GHz and six power-efficient ARM Cortex-A53 cores running at 1.6GHz, plus a Mali-G71 GPU.
The phone runs Android 8.1 OS with the company’s Samsung Experience UI on top. The phone has Mali-G71 MP2 GPU and is available in 3 GB and 4 GB RAM variants.
Battery and storage
The phone is backed by a 5000mAh battery, which comes bundled with a 15W charger. Samsung says that ten minutes of charging will allow users to enjoy three hours of videos or 11 hours of music playback.
The phone is available in two storage variants one with 32 GB of memory and second with 64 GB of internal storage. The phones support expandable memory up to 1 TB via a microSD card slot.
The Galaxy M20 has a USB Type-C port on the bottom of the phone. The tray is on the left which can house two Nano-SIMs as well as a dedicated microSD card slot. The phone supports Dual VoLTE and users can access LTE on either SIM at any time. Apart from this, the Galaxy M20 comes with Bluetooth, USB, Wi-Fi, NFC, GPS, 3G, and 4G connectivity.

It has uplink speeds of up to 150Mbps with category 13 and 2-carrier aggregation. It has 4-mode GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) and supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and FM radio.
The phone comes with a 3.5 mm headphone jack and a loudspeaker. The device has an integrated FM Radio which supports recording. The phone comes with active noise cancellation and has a dedicated microphone. It has Dolby Atmos sound.
The phone has an ambient light sensor and a proximity sensor which is to the left of the notch. The Galaxy M20 has a fingerprint sensor on the rear of the device. The phone comes with an integrated fingerprint sensor and a Face Unlock feature.
The Galaxy M20 is available in 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage variant which is priced for Rs. 10,990, and a second 4GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage variant which is priced at Rs. 12,990.
