If you're looking for a sub-1 lakh rupee gaming behemoth, definitely consider the Lenovo Y50-70 – a great gaming laptop at the price. Just take a look at its specs: Full HD 15.6-inch screen, Intel Core i7-4710HQ chip, 8GB DDR3 RAM, 1TB HDD + 8GB SSD, and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 860M graphics with 2GB GDDR5 memory. It's specs are very similar to an entry-level Alienware priced a lot higher. Let's just say that you won't be disappointed while gaming on the Lenovo Y50-70.

I bought the monster on 31 Dec 2015 from E-Mall (Kolkata) with the price of Rs 84000/-with 2 Yrs. extended warranty (extra Rs 1050/-).It is simply magnificent ultra-book with unbeatable performance. You can’t find his mate even worth Rs.110000/-. It is a serious machine with alien tech. It is wonderful with extensive gaming with high frame rates. It is unmatched with graphics designing, Video/Photo editing works. As an editing fellow & as a designer my all works are done by it flawlessly. I get battery backup around 4 hrs. 30 mints with Wi-Fi. One thing I would like to mention that this notebook has different models therefore check before buy. Some people complain about its display but it is absolutely gorgeous after 2015 model upgrade. As my model has IPS FHD LED ANTI GLARE display. Yes! It is IPS anti-glare LED display not LCD or backlit led therefore I said it has various models with differences. Except that all the specifications are same. It has no heating issues though I worked high intensive 8-9 hrs. in a day with lots of editing & designing. I play games 2-3 hrs. in a day with high settings no issues regarding fps are found.Trackpad is butter smooth love this. Now I have few suggestion to potential buyers- 1) Don’t buy this notebook from online as it has various models buy it from a retailer. 2) Try to go with Windows 8.1 version rather than Windows 10 as it has few stability issues regarding drivers & security. 3) Work hard with everyday gaming. TAKE CARE FOLKS!!!! ? ?
First, I didn't buy the product from flipkart. I got it from official Lenovo retailer. Second, I did a lot of research in every possible way and compared this to almost every laptop in this range. The closest competitor was Asus G551JX-DM036H ROG Series. But i'll tell you why this thing is better than that assuming you are buying this for gaming purpose !! For gaming first requirement is the GPU(graphic card): Lenovo has 860M and Asus has 950M (please don't go for memory as in 2gb vs 4gb , it matters least). I compared the two GPUs in gpuboss.com and 860m was rated 7.3/10 where 950M gets a low 6.9/10. Reasons to buy 860M over 950M : Higher clock speed 1,020 MHz vs 914 MHz More than 10% higher clock speed Higher effective memory clock speed 5,012 MHz vs 4,000 MHz More than 25% higher effective memory clock speed Better 3DMark vantage graphics score 18,276.5 vs 14,227 Around 30% better 3DMark vantage graphics score Higher memory bandwidth 80.2 GB/s vs 64 GB/s More than 25% higher memory bandwidth Higher turbo clock speed 1,085 MHz vs 993 MHz Around 10% higher turbo clock speed Significantly higher memory clock speed 1,253 MHz vs 1,000 MHz More than 25% higher memory clock speed Higher crysis 3 framerate 18.75 fps vs 12.7 fps Around 50% higher crysis 3 framerate Higher BioShock infinite framerate 41.57 fps vs 29.6 fps More than 40% higher BioShock infinite framerate !!!! Asus ROG has 16 gb ram and Y50 has 8GB RAM !!! Google any gaming forum, all of them will say the same, that 8GB of RAM is more than enough for gaming purpose !!! 16GB ram is required when you go for High Definition video editing. Build quality is awesome. Maybe the older builds had problems but mine is perfect. JBL speakers is mind blowing !! You will never need additional speakers !!(i've to keep the volume to 30-40% to avoid disturbing others :p) Personal Experience : Batman Arkham Knight : Medium settings 40-50 fps Far Cry 4 : high settings 40-50 fps Call of Duty Advanced Warfare : Medium settings 50+ fps GTA V : medium settings 40+ fps Fifa 15,16 : ultra settings 80+ fps WWE 2k15 : medium settings 50+ fps Call of duty Ghosts : high settings 50+ fps Android studio & Visual Studio runs smooth and android emulators takes a bit time to start but runs smooth there after.(YES, i'm a developer also :p) I just found one con, that is the hard disk quality is a bit poor. When you try to copy huge files from one place to another inside your HDD, it's a bit slow. But you don't expect everything at this price, do you ? 8GB SSD gives it a super boot up time.(mine takes 3-5 secs to boot to windows login window) FINAL WORDS : IF YOU DONT WANT TO SPEND OVER 1 LAKH AND GET A GAMING LAPTOP, CLOSE YOUR EYES AND GO FOR IT !! JUST CHECK THE WARRANTY ISSUE WITH THE SELLERS, AS LENOVO DON'T PROVIDE WARRANTY IF YOU BUY FROM UNAUTHORIZED SELLERS.
The laptop here has been discontinued by lenovo officially and a new product has been launched with an upgrade of graphics card i.e N16P [Nvidia GTX960M]. Everything else have been kept same and the best thing is you can get this product same day from offline store (local market) for about 80k! The lenovo online store has given me a discount of 3500 on the product when I called them! The new model number is "Lenovo Y50-70 59-441905".
Firstly, flipkart's delivery service was really fast as usual. Got it in 3days (excluding sunday) from Thane to Guwahati. As it was under flipkart advantage service, it was packed and shipped by flipkart. Bought it from JHSTretailers and the seller turned out to be as good as WS Retailer. Now lets take a look at the beast: Pros- 1. This laptop is a beauty with its sleek design with red accents 2. The 4GB GDDR5 graphics is capable of running any game smoothly in high to ultra settings 3. The JBL speakers used here are better than the competition (there's also a subwoofer like vent at the bottom but I don't know if it works) 4. It has an extra ram slot if you want more than 8gb of ram (59-441908 has the extra ram slot) 5. The core-i7 4710HQ has a decent clock speed for gaming 6. The price here is a great discount as lenovo stores in my place asked 86k for it Cons- 1. The metals and plastics used are all fingerprint magnets 2. The display's viewing angles are bad and the colours are washed out but you can always tweak the saturation, contrast and gamma to your liking for better colours. 3. 5400rpm HDD may be a disappointment to some but, I don't mind it. Overall its a decent laptop which can satisfy my gaming and graphic designing needs with ease. Haven't got any issues with the wifi as most people are saying on the internet (played fifa 11 and cs 1.6 in wireless LAN). So, finally I would like to say its one of the best gaming laptops at such an affordable price range.
great laptop 5400 rpm hard drive but you can upgrade it to a SSD even though it wont affect your gaming. no screws missing and nothing wrong with the product delivered. deccan hub fast delivery. received it five days before the estimated delivery date go for it .
I bought this laptop from Paytm since it was available there in 69k. Below I will be mentioning the pros and cons of using this laptop after using it for about 15-20 days : Advantages : 1. Awesome looks 2. Rubberized feel for the palm 3. Backlit keyboard which is really good. 4. Really great JBL speakers. 5. A mammoth of a graphics card ( 4 gb GDDR5 860m which is capable of running most games in medium to high settings ) 6. Great build quality. 7. Wifi till now has been somewhat decent. Disadvantages : 1. Lenovo after sales support is the worst I have experienced. 2. You have to backup your laptop as soon as you buy it because they will not provide any windows DVD. If your windows crashes, then you will have to pay Lenovo Rs.1600 and purchase a DVD from them if you want to reinstall genuine windows again. 3. You cannot partition your disk, otherwise Lenovo One-Key recovery will not work and your system may become unusable, so might have to reinstall windows after it ( happened with me on the 2nd day ) 4. Display is a full HD TN display which is not as bad as people say it is. If you adjust the gamma levels and keep the brightness and 100 %, it is a better than average TN display. 5. Smudges : There will be a lot of smudges each and everyday and you have to regularly clean them. 6. 5400 rpm HDD so don't expect fast performance 7. Bloatware and other useless software preinstalled are really crap. Overall, i would say, though there are many disadvantages, but the advantages eclipse them any day. Moreover, other laptops in this budget are no where near, (other than ASUS ROG model worth 70k). Moreover, its build quality is actually the best in under 1 lakh category. Do buy, and moreover, there is an offer going on from Lenovo, which gives u free warranty and a 1 tb hdd for rs.500, so do check that out. Thank You ! :)
i brought this laptop 3 months ago and i can play almost all games like watchdogs, assassin's creed unity, etc at max graphic settings without any lag....though its screen is not good for a laptop of this price, but it is unnoticeable while playing games.....and another big issue is that it heats up so badly while playing games that you can feel the heat on your fingers while playing. Overall it is best gaming laptop.
One of the best products in the market when it comes to gaming. I have been using this for some 5 months now and I am happy to say this laptop have given me immense relief when it came to gaming. From Fifa 15 to GTA V and WWE 2k15, everything runs smoothly in this beast with no lag at all in ultra high graphics settings.! :D
BEST PERFORMANCE..! BEST GRAPHICS LAPTOP..! BEST PRICE..! BEST SOUND QUALITY AND ITS LOUD..! BEST DESIGN..! SLIM AND NOT HEAVY..! Except the display everything is amazing. If you plan on spending around 90K for a gaming laptop, this is the the best you can get out there (May-2015). After spending around 79K for this laptop if you are willing to spend another 8K for buying a new LCD display compatible with this then PURCHASE it without a second thought. There is an alternative if you prefer not to replace the screen by tweaking gama and saturation settings.
So when you are going for an 80k laptop labelled as a gaming laptop you should atleast expect to play games on it peacefully. The biggest issue with this laptop is its wifi issues. You cannot play lan games on it like counter strike because this laptop freezes lan games for a while as the wifi has issues. I have a 50mbps internet connection and i rarely get good speeds on my laptop, my friends with cheaper laptops get 50mbps but me with an 80k laptop seems like a fol getting only 14-20mbps. Search for lenovo y50 wifi issues and you'll know what i am talking about. Laptop is very sleek but it also leaves a lot of finger prints on the touchpad and surrounding plastic.
