Xiaomi may launch wireless charger power bank with Mi 9 on February 20: Report

Xiaomi is launching its next flagship, the Mi 9 on February 20 in China and a report claims that along with the phone, the Chinese company could also unveil a 10,000mAh power bank that can wirelessly charge the device. This will be the company’s first power bank to sport the wireless charging capability. Mysmartprice also says that possibly Xiaomi may launch a battery pack with 20,000mAh capacity in the future in China.

Last week, Xiaomi CEO and co-founder announced via a poster-teaser on Weibo that the company will launch the next Mi-branded flagship device, the Mi 9 on February 20 in China. Since the first announcement, he has been sharing renders of the phone and giving out the technical information on the hardware that has been used in manufacturing the device. He has already talked about the processor and RAM, the triple camera setup and the display used in the phone.

The executive first confirmed that the phone will have Qualcomm’s flagship processor, the Snapdragon 855 under the hood, and showed off the blue colour variant of the phone. Leaked specs revealed that the phone will come with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The executive also noted that the phone will have a total of four cameras: a triple camera setup on the back and a single sensor on the front.

In the next post, the CEO revealed information about the camera hardware. According to the CEO, the primary camera in the triple camera system on the back is the Sony IMX586 48MP sensor with f/1.75 aperture lens. The second camera is a 12MP f/2.2 sensor with 2x optical zoom, and it will be used for depth sensing for portrait photos. The third camera will have a 16MP sensor with f/2.2 aperture and a 117-degree wide viewing angle. On the front, the Xiaomi Mi 9 will rock a 20MP sensor housed in a waterdrop notch.

In his latest post, Jun talked about the display saying that the Mi 9 will have a 90.7 percent screen-to-body ratio and it will use a FHD+ AMOLED display provided by Samsung. Jun also noted that the display has the second generation of “sun screen” that makes colours more realistic under strong light. The display is said to come with an eye protection technology that has got certification from the German Institute of Electrical Engineers, it will be protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass 6.

Further, Samsung will also be launching its flagship Galaxy S10 series on February 20 in San Francisco. It is expected to launch three models, the Galaxy S10 e, the regular Galaxy S10 and the Galaxy S10+. The launch may also see the unveiling of Galaxy Watch Active, a pair of fitness bands and a pair of new Galaxy Buds.
