Reliance Jio reportedly offering 2GB free data to users again under Jio Celebrations Pack

Reliance Jio reportedly offering 2GB free data to users again under Jio Celebrations Pack
HIGHLIGHTS

Jio had previously offered free data to its users when it was celebrating its 2nd anniversary, in September.

Reliance Jio is known for gifting its users with free data on occasions like during the festive season and when it turned two years old. TelecomTalk now reports that the telecom operator is at it again and is crediting 2GB of high-speed 4G data to its users, for free. As per the report, Jio subscribers are getting 2GB of free data and one can check it out by heading over to the My Plan section of the MyJio app. This data gift to Jio users is said to be an extension of the ‘Jio Celebrations Pack’ and it should be listed in the user’s My Plan section by the same name.

Jio was offering the same benefits for four days under its Celebrations Pack last month as well, a month handing out free data after its anniversary celebration. However, it credited a total of 8GB data, which was broken down to 2GB per day. Back in Diwali, the telco also introduced the Rs 1,699 postpaid plan that offers unlimited local and voice calling, 1.5GB of daily data, and 100 SMS per day with a validity of 365 days. The company has not introduced any new recent plans but its rival Vodafone also came up with a 100 percent cashback offer, which is quite similar to Jio. The offer can be availed from the My Vodafone app which will credit the cashback to a user in form of Rs 50 vouchers. Do note that only Rs 399, Rs 458 and Rs 509 plans are eligible under this offer.

In other Jio news, the company might soon be rebranding its JioMusic app to JioSaavn and remove it the list of free apps. As per a recent report, the telco is planning to plans to implement some major changes to the JioMusic app and this includes merging with the Saavn app. With this, the company might be introducing paid plans for the app's users but also offer 90 days of free pro subscription to Jio users. The same will reportedly be implemented for free users of the Saavn music streaming app, who will have a choice to switch to the paid model for availing premium services. Back in March, Jio announced that it will be merging its JioMusic audio streaming app with Saavn after acquiring a partial stake in Saavn for $104 million. At the time, Reliance claimed that the upcoming combined music streaming service will be one of the largest media streaming platforms in the country and it seems that the company might finally be making its move towards realising this goal.
