iPad mini 4 might support full split screen mode
  • Currently, only the Apple iPad Air 2 supports full split-screen as it runs on the A8X processor, which means the mini 4 might also have at least the same.

According to latest reports, the Apple iPad mini 4 is expected to support a full split-view feature. The expected feature has been rumored by 9to5 Mac, along with a developer named Hamza Sood. The source of their report and claim is one of the files found in El Capitan.

Currently, full split-view is supported only by the Apple iPad Air 2 which runs on A8X processor. Since, full split-view depends on the hardware to work properly, you can expect the upcoming iPad mini 4 to run at least the A8X processor, if not any upgraded version of it. The El Capitan file shows the split-screen view for Safari on the iPad mini 4. In addition to this, they have also found a developer tool in El Capitan that lets developers to simulate iPad mini 3 running Safari in split-view mode, for testing the responsiveness of their website designs. The iPad mini 3 doesn’t support full split-view, which gives one more reason to believe the expectation.

If you are still wondering what full split-view mode is, then it is one of the many features revealed by Apple for the upcoming iOS 9. The full split-view mode lets you use two different apps side-by-side on the iPad along with the ability to adjust the screen size.

Apple is expected to hold an event on September 9 and we can expect the release of the rumored iPad mini 4 there. Further, there are also rumors of release of the iPhone 6c along with iPhone 6S and 6S Plus, as well as an updated WatchOS for the Apple Watch and a 12-inch iPad Pro. There are lots of rumors going on, but it will be interesting to see what Apple chooses to launch or announce at the event.
