Apple has five invites for WWDC 2019 this year, each one featuring an Animoji character. As noted by CNET, the invites feature illustrations of robot, skull, alien, monkey, and unicorn Animojis. All invites show the character’s mind being blown, literally, and the plume of smoke erupting from their brains consists of some coding symbols and well-known icons like notification toggle, a share icon, the testflight logo, Apple Music logo, a paintbrush, and more. This could be Apple’s way of hinting at the announements it plans to make at WWDC.

One of the most prominent of all the expected reveals is iOS 13, Apple's next major OS update. It is expected that iOS 13 will bring a system-wide Dark Mode to iPhones and iPads. The visual interface could be heavy on blacks and greys, optimised for lesser eye strain and more comfortable visibility in the dark. The Apple invites with Animojis also hint at the same with a neon illustration on a dark background. iOS 13 is speculated to bring some additional features like a new keyboard option which allows users to swipe across letters in one motion to type out words. Updates to Health, Apple Books, Reminders apps, and more are also expected to come with iOS 13.

Besides the mobile OS, Apple is expected to announce macOS 10.15, that might finally bring project Marzipan. This means iPad apps could finally run on Apple’s laptops and desktops. Other software development for the next macOS could include Screen Time, new effects, and stickers for the Messages app, integration with the Siri Shortcuts app, the new Reminders app, new Apple Music app and upgrades to Apple Books. While Apple usually doesn’t launch new hardware at WWDC, there are rumours about a revamped Mac Pro desktop computer, and a new external monitor with HDR support.
