Apple is seeding the second public beta version of iOS 13 and iPadOS to its users.
The new OS builds will be made available as OTA updates for devices that are running the first public beta builds.
Apple released the first public beta of iOS 13 and iPadOS late last month and it is now rolling out the second public beta. Apple's public beta program is a good option for regular users who want to try out iOS 13 ahead of its upcoming fall stable launch. Those who have signed up for participating in Apple’s beta testing program should receive the iOS 13 and/or iPadOS update on their devices. However, those who want to join the program can do so on Apple’s beta testing website. Users can sign-up to gain beta access for iOS, iPadOS, macOS and tvOS.
Apple announced the new iOS 13, iPadOS and macOS Catalina during its World Wide Developers Conference (WWDC 2019) event. The new OS for iPads is available only for the iPad Pro, including all 12.9-inch, 11-inch, 10.5-inch, and 9.7-inch models. Fifth generation and newer iPads are also supported, along with the iPad mini (fourth generation and newer) and the iPad Air (second generation and above). iOS 13 beta build is available for iPhone 6 Plus and above, iPhone SE and the iPod 7th gen. Those who are currently testing the first public beta can head over to the Update section on their device’s settings to check for the public beta 2 update.
iOS 13 brings a host of new features for Apple’s devices such as performance improvements, Dark Mode, Privacy enhancements, Quick Path swiping actions for keyboard, a revamped reminders app, new Messages and Memoji Stickers, new features for Siri, AirPods and Radio updates, along with support for external storage. There are many more iOS 13 features, which you can check out here.
As for the new iPadOS, it is said to bring a new level of functionality for iPads. It showcases apps in multiple spaces and comes with App Expose, which is a redesigned home screen that changes the layout of the apps and adds widgets to the home screen. Users can also extend their workspace by using the iPad as an extended display. You can learn more about the new features that come with iPadOS here.
