HIGHLIGHTS

GTX 650Ti BOOST will sport the GPU Boost clock and offer SLI option as well

NVIDIA announced their latest graphics card – the GeForce GTX 650Ti BOOST. This card is NVIDIA’s attempt to allow gamers the ability to have a lower budget card which is capable of delivering a better visual gaming experience than the existing GTX 650 and GTX 650Ti cards. The benchmark NVIDIA is targetting is gaming at 1080p resolution with High visual quality settings. This is achieved by adding in a GPU Boost clock which till now was only found on GTX 660 and higher cards.

Compared to the GeForce GTX 650 Ti, the GeForce GTX 650 Ti BOOST runs at 980MHz base clock, 5 per cent higher than the GeForce GTX 650 Ti, and enjoys a slightly higher texture fill rate of 62.7 Gigatexels/sec.

With the boost clock, the GTX 650Ti BOOST card can operate at up to 1033MHz whereas the older GTX 650Ti does not have the Boost clock option. This boost clock will vary depending on the game requirements. The GTX 650Ti BOOST also features a 192-bit memory interface as opposed to the 128-bit memory interface seen on the the GTX 650Ti. These enhancements will help improve the performance of this card. Although NVIDIA claims that you get a 40 per cent faster performance than the GTX 650Ti, we can only confirm that once we run the GTX 650Ti BOOST through its paces in our test labs.

NVIDIA has also added in an SLI option for those gamers willing to add in an extra GTX 650Ti BOOST card to have a budget SLI rig.

The GeForce GTX 650Ti BOOST will be available 2GB and 1GB configurations at an MRP of INR 11,999 and INR 10,499, respectively. Partner cards will be priced in this range as well. This places the GTX 650Ti BOOST in direct competition with AMD’s just released HD 7790 which is priced around USD 149 (Rs. 8100).
