ASRock announces X99 Taichi and Fatal1ty X99 gaming motherboards at Computex 2016
HIGHLIGHTS

ASRock has some gaming motherboards and a mini desktop machine that can run VR!

With Intel's earlier launch of the 10-core i7 “Broadwell-E” processors, ASRock has introduced two mid-ranged to high-end LGA2011v3 socket X99 motherboards to go with these processors. Named as Taichi and Fatal1ty X99 Gaming i7, these boards are targeted at gamers and overclockers.

The ASRock X99 Taichi features a black themed PCB with a white gear painted on the board along with white I/O ports. It also features 3 PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slots, 2 x Ultra M.2 slots(with NVMe boot support), 2 x USB 3.1 ports (Type-A and Type-C each), 2 x Intel Gigabit LAN, 802.11ac WiFi for connectivity, a water cooling pump header and supports a 12 phase power design. It also supports 3-way SLI and CrossFire and ASRock’s Purity Sound 3 audio solution for superior audio performance and is priced at $219. The board has a painted “gear” design around the BIOS that looks pretty dope. This one's a good choice if you are building a completely black and white rig.

On the other hand, the ASRock Fatal1ty X99 Gaming i7 sports all the features seen in X99 Taichi, except it is Fatal1ty-themed. So the white I/O are replaced with the black along with red and white accents throughout the black PCB. ASRock has also replaced the Purity Sound 3 audio with the Creative SoundBlaster Cinema3 audio with ground-layer isolation in this one. This X99 gaming board also features the Fatal1ty Mouse Port, ASRock Key Master software and a 3-month XSplit3 license are also bundled along. The Fatal1ty X99 will retail for a higher $259.

ASRock also showcased its range of mini desktop machines, of which the M8 is one that is designed to run VR and is HTC Vive and Radeon VR Ready at Computex 2016. It boasts a H110M motherboard along with an Intel Core i5-6400 CPU, 8GB RAM and an AMD Radeon R9 Nano, but also has several other options too. There was no information about its availability, so stay tuned with us for future updates.
