Realme 2 press renders, retail box image leaked

Realme 2 press renders, retail box image leaked
HIGHLIGHTS

Realme launched its official website and accidentally uploaded an image of the Realme 2 smartphone. The image has since been taken down and a retail box of the smartphone has also been spotted in the wild.

Recently, Realme separated from Oppo to create a standlaone brand. Since its separation, the company was looking forward to launch a second Realme device, the Realme 2. Not much has been reported about this smartphone, but we now have two signs that the phone exists and company is planning to unveil it soon. In the first development, Realme accidently leaked the press renders of the smartphone before it launched the official website. This was then followed by an image leak of the Realme 2's retail box.

An image of the Realme 2 went live on the company's website ahead of official announcement. The image has since been taken down and if you visit the website now, you will see that the website only features the Realme brand story and the Realme 1 smartphone. The leaked photo showed the phone’s front and back, and no hardware and software information accompanied the leak. Going by the image, the Realme 2 will sport a notch and a dual-camera system and and LED flash on the back. There is a centrally-aligned fingerprint on the back panel which has the similar design as its predecessor, the Realme 1, that has a geometric pattern underneath the glass back. The phone in the image was shown in two colours: black and blue.

The Realme 2 looks similar to the Oppo F7 and Oppo F9 Diamond Black editions (in terms of back panel design). It is a high possibility that the Realme 2 could have the same configuration as the Oppo F7. It may run on MT6771 Helio P60 processor, sport a 6.23-inch 2280×1080 display and 16MP+2MP rear cameras. The Realme 2 may be priced under Rs 20,000. Just when this development was making rounds on the internet, an image of the retail box of the Realme 2 surfaced. The image did not have any information about the phone, so for now, people may have to depend on leaks and rumours till the company officially announces the phone.
