OriginOS 6 beta build release
Ahead of the launch, both Vivo and iQOO have rolled out beta testing programs for OriginOS 6. iQOO, through its official community, revealed that the beta build will be released soon for eligible devices, though it has not shared a full roadmap or list of supported models yet. The company claims the new UI is designed to offer a smoother, smarter, and more personal smartphone experience.
Vivo, on the other hand, has already started a closed beta for select X200 Pro users in India, as spotted on the FAQ page of its website. However, an open beta rollout is still pending.
Origin OS vs FunTouch OS: What’s new
FunTouch OS has often been criticised for its minimal animations, inconsistent navigation, and limited customisation options. OriginOS, meanwhile, has been praised in China for its polished design and advanced features. By replacing FunTouch OS worldwide, Vivo is expected to deliver a visually modern UI and ensure faster software updates across devices.
Origin OS 6 features
Origin OS 6, built on Android 16, is expected to carry forward several AI-powered and productivity-focused features from its predecessors while introducing new upgrades. The new software update will likely enable drag-and-drop functionality for quick file and image processing. Additionally, it may also come with enhanced Jovi Voice offering support for more natural conversations and smarter task execution.
Further, there could also be an Atomic Island that offers live activity updates and contextual suggestions based on copied content. Other key features include AI Call Assistant with real-time translations, call summaries, and even automated call responses.
On the design front, users can expect refined animations, revamped icons, and deeper personalisation tools, making the interface feel more fluid and customisable compared to FunTouch OS.
