LG V40 ThinQ latest leak shows handset with notch, iPhone-like bezels
HIGHLIGHTS

The LG V40 ThinQ will launch on October 3 in New York and is expected to come with Snapdragon 845 processor, 6GB RAM and 128GB storage.

Last week LG announced that it will launch the V40 ThinQ smartphone on October 3 at an event in New York, and on October 4, it will unveil the device on its home turf. The South Korean electronics giant released a video with the invitation which showed three rear cameras: One with a wide-angle lens, another with zoom capabilities (telephoto lens) and a third one dedicated to capturing portrait images. A new leak now shows the alleged smartphone from the front with the display sporting a notch and iPhone-like bezels.

As you can see in the image, the width of the chin is similar to the thickness of the side bezels. The notch on the screen has a total of three cutouts – one for the earpiece and other two could be camera sensors. The sensor in the centre could be a flash. The CAD render that were released previously also showed two cameras on the front. There are a total of four buttons on the edges – three on left and one on the right edge. Two of the three buttons on the left could be volume rockers, and the one below them could be a dedicated button to summon the Google Assistant. The one on the right could be the power button.

The LG V40 ThinQ is expected to feature a 6.3-inch OLED or p-OLED display with QHD+ resolution of 3120 x 1440 pixels. The phone could sport triple rear-facing camera setup: One with a wide-angle lens, another with zoom capabilities (telephoto lens) and a third one dedicated to capturing portrait images. The phone has also been spotted on the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) website in the US. On the bottom edge is a USB Type-C port, a speaker and a 3.5mm headphone jack. On the hardware front, the phone is expected to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, 6GB RAM and 128GB storage.
