Honor has announced two new mid-range smartphones in its Play series in China. The Honor Play 4T Pro and the Play 4T come with 48MP primary cameras and 4,000mAh battery. While the regular model has a punch-hole cutout for the front-facing camera, the Pro variant makes do with a u-shaped waterdrop notch on top.
Honor Play 4T Pro is priced starting at CNY 1,499 for the base variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage and CNY 1,699 for the top-end variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. It is being offered in three colour options-- blue, black and emerald.
The Play 4T, on the other hand, is a more affordable phone as it is priced at CNY 1,199 and comes with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. There’s currently no word on the availability of either of these phones outside of China.
Honor Play 4T Pro features a 6.3-inch Full HD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels) resolution display that uses an OLED panel with a waterdrop notch cutout for the selfie camera, giving the screen a 20:9 aspect ratio. There’s an in-display fingerprint sensor as well for faster unlock.
The phone is powered by the company’s homegrown Kirin 810 chip with an octa-core CPU and Mali-G52 MP6 GPU. This is paired with upto 8GB RAM and 128GB storage, with an option to increase the storage by adding a microSD card of upto 256GB. It runs on Magic UI 2.1 that’s based on Android 10, out-of-the-box.
The 4T Pro has a triple camera setup with a 48MP primary camera, an 8MP ultrawide angle lens and a 2MP depth sensor. The cameras can record upto 4K at 30fps. There’s a 16MP front-facing camera housed within the notch cutout for selfies.
The phone comes with a 4,000mAh battery with support for 22.5W fast charging via Type-C adapter.
Honor Play 4T features a 6.3-inch LCD screen with an HD+ (1560 x 720 pixels) resolution and a punch-hole cutout that gives it a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The phone is powered by Kirin 710A chip with octa-core CPU and Mali0-G51 MP4 GPU. This is paired with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage that can further be expanded via microSD card.
The phone has a pair of cameras on the back that consists of a primary 48MP sensor and a 2MP depth sensor. On the front, there’s an 8MP selfie camera.
It features a fingerprint reader on the rear panel and comes fitted with a 4,000mAh battery, the same as 4T Pro but without the fast charging goodness.
