Amazon is expanding its range of Echo devices. The products start from Rs 2,999 with the Echo Flex and Echo Input and go up to Rs 29,999 with the Echo Link Amp. While most of the Echo devices are speakers or audio-focused devices, the Echo Show range comes equipped with displays. Now, the company has introduced its mid-range offering - the Echo Show 8 - in India. The device is now available for pre-order at a discounted launch price of Rs. 8,999. It will start shipping on February 26.
For reference, Amazon launched the Echo Show 8 globally alongside the Echo Buds and Echo Frames in September 2019. The new Echo Show features an 8-inch HD-resolution touch screen and two-inch neodymium speakers. It has a passive bass radiator as well. Like other Echo devices, the Echo Show 8 gives users access to Alexa and connects to the Internet over Wi-Fi. The device provides a full suite of Alexa capabilities, including voice assistance, information, music streaming through linked services, and communication.
Users can video call using the Echo Show 8 as it sports a screen and camera. The camera has a drop-in feature that lets users quickly and seamlessly connect to their own Echo devices. However, if you have privacy concerns, you can use the physical shutter over the front camera.
As for the pricing, Echo Show 8 is priced at Rs 12,999. However, it is available at Rs 8,999 to whosoever pre-orders it. The Echo Show 8 starts shipping on February 26. It is more expensive than Echo Show 5, which costs Rs 6,999. However, it is much cheaper than the Echo Show that retails at Rs. 22,999 and has a 10.1-inch display.
