OnePlus will finally introduce its Android 16 based OxygenOS 16 tomorrow. OxygenOS 16 release date

OnePlus has already confirmed OxygenOS 16 will be unveiled on October 16. It must be noted that this is not the roll out date. The Oxygen OS 16 will gradually roll out to last generation devices. However, the exact schedule remains under the wraps.

The update, which is based on Android 16, promises an updated Material You 3.0-inspired Expressive UI with improved multitasking, fluid animations, and seamless transitions. Additionally, dynamic lock screen updates will be added to the new version, enabling real-time status updates to be displayed by compatible apps like food delivery services, taxi services, and e-commerce platforms. The OxygenOS 16 is anticipated to include a number of AI-powered improvements meant to boost OnePlus devices’ performance and user experience.

Oxygen OS 16 eligible devices

According to reports from the OnePlus community, the OxygenOS 16 rollout will begin with the flagship OnePlus 13 lineup, including the OnePlus 13, 13R, and 13s, before extending to older premium models like the OnePlus 12, 12R, and 11 series. The update is also expected to reach the Nord series later in the cycle, covering devices such as the Nord 5, Nord 4, and Nord 3. Tablets like the OnePlus Pad 3, Pad 2, and Pad Lite are reportedly on the list as well. Meanwhile, models such as the Nord CE 4, CE 4 Lite, and Nord 3 are likely to receive OxygenOS 16 as their final major update.
