iOS 26.1 features

The new update will bring new features to Apple Music. The users will be able to switch between songs directly from the MiniPlayer via simple swipe gestures, swiping left to skip forward or right to go back.

Apple could bring a Live Translation feature for AirPods with support for five additional languages, bringing the total to 11. The new feature will allow users to have real-time translated conversations via AirPods. It’s compatible with AirPods Pro 3, AirPods Pro 2, and the latest AirPods 4 (ANC variant). The expanded list now includes Mandarin, English (US and UK), French, German, Italian, Korean, Japanese, Portuguese, and Spanish.

Apple is also said to reintroduce a familiar gesture to prevent accidental dismissals of alarms. The new Swipe to Stop action replaces the large stop button introduced in iOS 26, making it harder to silence alarms unintentionally. It will bring the gesture to both alarms and timers.

iOS 26.1 eligible devices

iOS 26.1 will be available for all iPhones that currently support iOS 26, starting from the iPhone X and later models, including the iPhone SE (2nd generation and newer).
