It has been years since Ghost of Tsushima gave a new meaning to what an open-world samurai adventure could look like. Till date, the memory of its sweeping landscapes, aesthetically pleasing map, and intense sword duels remains fresh. Now, the much-loved adventure is getting a sequel and that’s the talk of the town this week. Ghost of Yotei hits the PlayStation 5 this week and ahead of the release, here is all you need to know about the game.

Ghost of Yotei release date and pre-orders
Ghost of Yotei officially launches on October 2, 2025. Players in India will have two options to choose from. The Standard Edition is priced at Rs 4,999, while the Digital Deluxe Edition comes in slightly higher at Rs 5,599. The game is already available for pre-order and you can head to the PlayStation Store to add it in your library right away.
If you decide to pre-order the game, there are certain perks. Both editions include early access to Atsu, the central protagonist, as well as a Six Avatar Set and an exclusive in-game mask. Fans who decide to go for the Digital Deluxe Edition will get even more rewards, such as the Snake Armour, a special armour dye, a unique horse and saddle, a sword kit, a charm, and a Traveller’s Map. These digital extras add depth to the experience right from day one, making the premium edition particularly tempting for hardcore players.
All we know about Ghost of Yotei
At the heart of Ghost of Yotei lies Atsu, a hardened mercenary whose life is defined by loss and vengeance. His mission is deeply personal: hunting down the Yotei Six, the group blamed for murdering his family. This path of revenge transforms him into the “Ghost” of Yotei, mirroring Jin Sakai’s transformation in Ghost of Tsushima.
The game promises not just a central narrative but also a roster of side characters with their own stories, creating a layered and immersive world. Players can expect lush environments that surpass those of Tsushima, with dynamic seasonal changes that directly influence the gameplay. Combat, once again, leans heavily on the mastery of Japanese blades, but the developers are hinting at deeper mechanics and more weapon variety to keep duels unpredictable and intense.
With its focus on atmosphere, revenge-driven storytelling, and refined combat, Ghost of Yotei looks set to carry forward the legacy of its predecessor while carving out its own identity.
