Sony India officially launched the Cyber-shot 'Super wide shot Supermodel' campaign today with the introduction of Deepika Padukone as the brand ambassador for its Cyber-shot range of cameras. It is said that great synergy will be witnessed between Deepika Padukone and Cyber-shot cameras as they dynamically suit each other, "being cool, dynamic and highly fashionable" super models. This is why Sony India has called it the 'Super wide shot Supermodel' campaign.
The new range of cameras have been built with a unique feature called “Sweep Panorama' which enables the user to take awesome ultra-wide images, with a field-of-view up to 270 degrees with amazing ease. Deepika has signed a year long contract as Cyber-shot's brand ambassador.
At the press release, Mr.Masaru Tamagawa, Managing Director of Sony India, said, “We are aiming to uphold our No. 1 position in the digital still camera category, with a target market share of 45 percent by the end of the financial year 2010. To achieve this, we have introduced a complete new range of Cyber-shot cameras. The new cameras effortlessly blend technology with style and give consumers the best photo-imaging experience ever”. He added, “We were looking for a brand ambassador whose personality could mirror this experience and give it a materialistic form. Deepika is a free spirited, bubbly, young girl who at the same time is extremely talented and a professional. The association seemed obvious with so many common factors between Cyber-shot and Deepika which appeal to the youth instantly.
Deepika Padukone had this to say about her association with Sony India: “It is a matter of great pride for me to be associated with a cult brand like Sony. Cyber-shot comes in ultra cool, stylish design and classy colours, which is a perfect match to my personality. I am totally enthralled by the technologically superior features. With 'Sweep Panorama', I can easily capture breathtaking panoramic scenes with just one sweep of the camera. I eagerly look forward to make a positive contribution to the brand imagery of Cyber-shot cameras and fulfill the expectations from this association.
Sony has earmarked an investment of Rs. 50 crores for the marketing of this campaign with Deepika Padukone and simultaneously introduced the 'Sweep Panorama' technology with its new range of cyber-shot cameras.
Introduction to Sweep Panorama:
Sweep Panorama technology enables the camera to shoot images at a high speed, and then seamlessly integrates the images together using automatic position adjustment to create a single panoramic image in just 3 seconds. The Cyber-shot camera is available in wide and ultra-wide options and can take panoramic shots up to 270 degrees.
