New threaded conversations feature spotted in WhatsApp beta for Android (v2.25.25.7).

The feature will allow users to tap a message and see all replies in a dedicated sub-thread.

Currently in beta testing, with a wider rollout expected in the coming weeks.

Meta-owned popular instant messaging app, WhatsApp, is reportedly working on a feature that will organise chats within the group. The new feature, threaded conversations, has been spotted under development and will organise chats under the original message instead of losing them in the main chat flow. Once the feature is made available to users, it will enable them to tap a message and see all related responses in one place, keeping conversations organised.

According to WABetaInfo, a WhatsApp feature tracker, the threaded messages or reply threads feature was first spotted in the WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.25.25.7. It is currently available to a limited number of beta testers and is expected to roll out the feature to a broader user base in the future. Those willing to try this upcoming feature can download the latest WhatsApp beta for Android, available via the Google Play Store.

As per the shared screenshots, a redesigned reply system appears with a “sub-thread” under the original message. Inside the thread, users can see a full view of the replies.

Additionally, replies sent within these threads will reportedly be internally marked as “follow-up replies,” however, this label isn’t visible to everyone. Further, the older replies will automatically appear in the thread to maintain context.

For now, threaded conversations are limited to beta users. WhatsApp hasn’t confirmed when the feature will roll out globally; however, it’s likely to arrive for all users in the coming weeks.

Recently, the instant messaging app was also spotted working on a new feature that will allow users to share posts with a more personalised audience, similar to Instagram’s close friends. The new feature was found in the latest WhatsApp beta for iOS 25.23.10.80 via TestFlight.
