Extremely overpriced. It sells for less than half this price in USA during various festive sale seasons. Corporate companies are buying this laptop at dirt cheap rate. But arrogant brand is selling it for such a huge price. Better buy any good laptop from ASUS or other reputed brand with better specs and 1 third price. Don't recommended at this price.
I foolishly bought this product in India. The hard disc kept filling up on its own, so that I had to remove all my photos and videos, and eventually major folders also. These were lost in the external drive which got corrupted which meant years of data was lost. Customer support insisted it was a software problem, even though I have no extra software on the laptop, and only use it for research, and even though it was giving problems from Day 1. They were extremely patronising and basically just refused to acknowledge that the problem existed before delivery, which makes it an issue they need to rectify.
I have been continuing to use my X1 Carbon, purchased in the US, after moving here. This is hands down one of the best systems you can buy. It has been reviewed sufficiently in many forums and I doubt you can find any negative reviews about this product. However, think twice if you are planning to use it in India. After about 8 months of normal use, my battery died. While the machine is still under warranty, the battery is not covered. That is still ok. The problem is that there are no replacement battery stocks for X1 Carbon available in India. I went to the Lenovo authorized service center and they said they cannot provide me a replacement, nor let me know when a replacement battery will be available. A 3rd party seller that Lenovo online customer service pointed me to initially sent me a quote saying it would take 6 to 8 weeks for a replacement, and have since then stopped responding to my messages. Even worse, without a working battery, the system slows down to about 23rds or 12 it original speed. I believe this is because the AC power supply by itself cannot support a fully driven processor. The system essentially becomes a 1980s CPU, with perceptible lag for even each key stroke. This is crippling if one is using this as a work machine, and having to go through the process of setting up a replacement machine while waiting for a replacement battery is a big headache.
best laptop to have.
I had to starve my family for 2 weeks to save enough money to buy this but it was definitely worth it. The laptop seems very fast and I don't even have to buy any games to play on it as the hunger in my belly gives hallucinations which are even more realistic. Recommended buy
Amazing Engineering! Is Amazon India going to sell this anytime soon? Would be seriously interested.
