Power and speaker buttons are placed opposite resulting in accidental silent mode.
Write about the performance of your review device:
The Realme 5 Pro works perfectly for normal usage. I have been working with the smartphone with Jio 4G. The handset provides smooth performance. However, I noticed few times that the accelerometer doesn't work as expected. The gesture-based navigation also hangs sometimes. I had to restart the device twice during my 8 months of experience. I also play games frequently and found the overall performance good. However, the Geekbench 5 benchmarks result bears a single-core score of 409 and multiple-core score of 1461, which is less than premium devices. The microphone on the phone requires tweaking because it recently disrupted my Google Hangouts call with my cousins. The Realme 5 Pro met my expectations for basic usage including social media.
Write about the software of your review device:
The company has thrown in several updates including the realme V1.0 based on the full-blown Android 10. I had worked with ColorOS 6, which was bundled with the device for several days. However, I really find the new realme V1.0 smooth and perfect for my requirements. The UI has completely changed after the update with smooth and intuitive navigation. I can now navigate apps quickly with an elegant UI. The quality of the display has been significantly improved after the update. The regular monthly updates ensure adequate security for the smartphone since most of the bug are resolved based on the feedback. The realme UI enables you to easily snap screenshots just by dragging the slider from the middle right side portion of the screen. I am very much impressed by this feature.
Write about the battery life of your review device:
The battery life is comparatively good. I can work with the device for over 4 days upon normal usage. However, if you watch streaming content, then you will have to charge on a daily basis. The system shows warning upon nearing the battery life. You will view a warning upon 20% capacity and subsequent warnings at regular intervals. I managed to work with the device for over 20 minutes even when only 2 percent battery was available. You will get sufficient time to charge the device. The Realme 5 Pro automatically switches off if you failed to charge. The device heats up if you are watching videos and streaming content. From my point of view, the Realme 5 Pro battery life meets the expectations of average consumers. However, you will have to think if you are a hard core gamer.
Write about the design and display of your device:
A large 6.67" IPS LCD screen takes most of the front and leaves quite thin bezels if we are not counting the more obvious chin, that is. The screen edges are curved, as on every other modern smartphone. But the long punch-hole is not that common - I first saw it on the Galaxy S10+ (right?), but it's obviously spreading. And I am not quite sure if this is the best design as the space around this large hole is entirely wasted. It's like having a notch in the corner, but somehow - uglier. The phone has Gorilla Glass 5 protection which should help it to survive most drops. But the LCD nature of the screen is making the punch hole look even worse as the panel accounts for uneven backlighting, and it shows its worst behaviour around the selfie hole. This phone supports HDR10 and videos came to life without colours popping up. I was also able to watch content under direct sunlight without any problem in legibility. Also the side-mounted fingerprint scanner was fast to recognize my fingerprints. However, I didn't like the placement and I think left-handed people might have a tough time in using the fingerprint scanner.I am not sure that all the design choices here are for the best, but this phone is at least unique and recognisable from the front as well as the back. The design of the Realme 5 Pro is just awesome. I purchased the Sparkling Blue color variant and the rear side is designed using premium materials. The surface looks silky smooth to touch. You will not view fingerprints on the rear side when you hold the phone straight but will appear if you gently raise the phone. I would suggest you to use the phone with the bundled back cover to protect the original design. The side panels also looks premium but the power and volume lockers are not easily visible. You will find it difficult to locate the side buttons initially but will adapt to it upon continuous usage. I observed that the side panel controls are gentle and not too hard. The smartphone will last long time if you use it carefully. Moreover, the company should ideally provide cleaning cloth as well along with the product package.
The display of the Realme 5 Pro is simply outstanding. The company has integrated a crystal-clear display with smooth UI. Sometimes, the notch acts like a distractor while working with the device. I would prefer to see a smaller notch. The ability to activate and deactivate the notch will be a great value-added addition to the smartphone. I am unable to find any display problems while the phone renders the content. The video calls via WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger looks awesome since I can manage the settings easily. The large display helps me to visualize and manage calls easily. The display also works smoothly with my third-party stylus as well. I would suggest Realme to bundle a dedicated stylus along with the upcoming smartphones.
Your Smartphone's Camera Review
The Realme 5 Pro ships with quad camera comprising of 48MP primary sensor. The camera clicks excellent pictures during both day and night. I can capture long distant objects perfectly without losing clarity with the smartphone. This is my first high-end camera smartphone and I loved the quality. The videos also work out well. However, I felt shoulder pain if you capture videos for a long time because of the weight of the phone. I normally snap unboxing images and videos, which will come out very well. I use a tripod to snap unboxing videos and the phone never falls. However, if I tilt the tripod gently, the phone will fall. I would suggest not to keep the phone attached to the tripod on the edge of the desk. The unboxing images are brighter than my previous captures with other devices. The photos sync well with my tech blog.
Final Verdict..!!
The Realme 5 Pro is a value-added smartphone with plenty of features. The UI stands apart from other devices and there are no annoying ads. I very much liked the style of functioning except the fact that the weight of the device is on a higher side. The display is large enough to visualize not only YouTube videos but also streaming content. With the help of the camera, you can snap brighter and sharper photos. The default storage space of 64GB is sufficient to store plenty of media content. If you are a beginner, then there is no need for a microSD card. The battery is sufficient enough for beginners. Moreover, the handset charges quickly via the bundled fast charger. I would suggest the company to adopt strict quality measures during the manufacturing of the charger cables. The company should also provide spare cables as an optional accessory on their official website. Even though there are minor issues, I would highly recommend Realme 5 Pro and the smartphones manufactured by Realme if you would like to work with a premium smartphone since the product provides advanced capabilities not available with competing brands.

The device has simply left me stunned, it simply stunned me with its smooth performance and beautiful design. I was too excited to capture moments with that 48 MP x 4 Quad camera along with Macro and Portrait lenses adding to the complete experience. VOOC 20W is better than VOOC 3.0 (20W > 18W) , the fastest charging phone at this price. I recommend this device to all
