Oppo has launched a number of phones across various budget segments this year. One of these is the Oppo Reno 5A. Launched in Japan initially, this phone offers a number of interesting features, including the promise of IP68 certification. The phone also offers a quad rear camera and features a 90Hz display. Apart from this, other key highlights of the Oppo Reno 5A include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G SoC, 128GB storage, and a hole-punch design. There's also support for interesting features, such as artificial intelligence backed Ultra Night Video and Neon Portrait. The phone also brings support for the dual video feature.
For now, the phone remains available for purchase only in Japan. However, it is expected to find its way to Indian shores in the coming weeks. The phone is available in Ice Blue and Silver Black colours. As the successor to the Reno 3A, the new Reno device is expected to feature a price tag of JPY 39,800 (approx Rs 26,000).
The Oppo Reno 5A features a 6.5-inch full-HD+ LTPS display with support for 90 Hz refresh rate. The display can process 180Hz touch sampling rate and works at 405ppi of pixel density. For the core hardware, the Oppo Reno 5A comes with an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G SoC paired with 6GB of LPDDR4x RAM. The phone runs on Android 11 with ColorOS 11 on top. The Oppo Reno 5A has 128GB of onboard storage that is expandable via a microSD card (up to 1TB).
For cameras, there is a quad rear camera setup that houses a 64-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.7 lens. The camera set-up also includes an 8-megapixel secondary camera sensor with an f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle lens, a 2-megapixel monochrome sensor with an f/2.4 lens, and a 2-megapixel macro shooter. At the front, the Reno 5A offers a 16-megapixel lens with an f/2.0 aperture.
The Oppo Reno 5A also supports 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.1, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, USB Type-C, and 3.5mm headphone jack. It also gets support for sensors such as the accelerometer, ambient light and a proximity sensor. As mentioned above, the phone also offers dust and water resistance with its IP68 certification.
