This is a very Good laptop But graphics is not good for my work
Battery issue... power drains even when the laptop is shut... I thought this issue is with my laptop only but I've read similar feedback of people... if anyone has any solution, please share..
Decent build considering the price. Comes with DOS. Installed Ubuntu 16.04 from USB pen drive. WiFi was not working initially as it did not have required driver. Used LAN, searched a lot for required Realtek wifi drivers, found those, installed. WiFi started working. Same with the sound card. Had to search for and install Intel hda drivers. Audio is not that loud though. The screen when opened at 90 degrees tends to touch the surface below the laptop. Great value for money. Useful for us developers since we use Ubuntu instead of Windows.
Great laptop with a powerful processor underneath. One of the best laptops out there with i5 8th gen which is much better than 7th generation. This i5 8th Gen combined with 8gb DDR4 RAM makes it the perfect laptop for day to day use, bit of coding and running applications that demand processing power. Performance improved by a great extent (no heating) after installing the drivers through HP Support Assistant. Build quality is great, sound quality is very good, and I love the FHD screen. Keyboard is also nice (no backlit though, which is OK). And as per many other reviewers, the intel UHD 620 integrated graphics lets you play many games if you lower the settings. If you are specifically looking for a gaming laptop, 15-bs179tx (same configuration with dedicated 2gb graphics card) might be a better alternative. Since this one comes with DOS, and you may have to install the OS yourself, I took the liberty to write some tips based on my own experience. Note - HP supports the drivers only for Windows 10, and not any previous versions. Tips for installation of Windows 10 on HP 15-bs145tu 1. Create a bootable USB with Windows 10 loaded in UEFI mode. Two popular ways to do this - 1) Microsoft's Windows media creation tool. 2) Download the ISO file of windows 10 saperately and load it in the USB through 'rufus' in UEFI mode. There are plenty of articles online that provide detailed instructions for both these ways (check out windowscentral). 2. Change boot order in dos loaded HP 15-bs145tu laptop As soon as you press the power button, hit 'esc' key to see more options. And then, press F10 to enter BIOS. Navigate to 'System Configuration' and press enter on 'Boot Options'. Go down to 'UEFI Boot order' and change the order such that 'USB diskette on key/usb hard disk' is the first in the order. You will see instructions on the right side on how to do this. Once that is done, press F10 in order to save the changes and exit. Press the power button to turn off the laptop. 3. Install Windows 10 Now, insert the bootable USB and turn on the laptop. Hit 'Esc' key, press F9 to select where to boot from, and select the USB device. The installation of Windows 10 will automatically start, and steps on how to install it are pretty standard - should be easy to find online, and follow through. Pay attention to steps on how to convert MBR disk to GPT. Only after converting the 930gb drive into GPT, you can install the OS on it. Once converted, go back a page and come to the same page forward, for it to recognize it as GPT. Once all the installation files are loaded, your laptop needs to restart. Right before the restart is the best time to remove the bootable USB from the port. Do NOT leave it inserted during the restart. After the restart Windows takes a few minutes to completely install and ask you to configure some of the settings before it loads the desktop for you. Remarks - 1. For best performance on this laptop, I strongly recommend you to install HP Support Assistant, and install the drivers that it suggests. 2. If this is your first time on Windows 10, you must know that this OS is a huge drain on internet data, because it loves to download and install all the latest system updates without your permission. If you have a limited internet plan, don't worry, there are ways to fix this. One way is to meter your connection in the WiFi settings. There is one more way which works for Windows 10 Pro - through 'local group policy editor' you can change Windows update settings. Detailed steps for both these methods can be found through a quick online search. Final verdict - This is a processing power packed machine, and the best under 40k. If you can take care of OS installation, this is a fantastic laptop. Just go for it.
The lap is good for use but take care to install Windows 10 for your personal use.
Laptop is a better choice at this price range. Good performance . I am sad to find that there is no backlit keyboard as described in the ifo by seller. Overall very good
