Dont buy this laptop from here! They are offering you the previous gen system for the same price. The present gen laptop can be purchased from compuindia.
no doubt thats a awesome computer beast it can handle anything thrown at it..even it can protect itself from the heat generated inside...but one thing tht is price in flipkart is around 40000 more...go to dells site they give it for 1.42L
If you consider an Core i7 powered laptop costs around 70k with 17 inch screen with 16 GB ram and a good graphics card, can be used for doing most of the PC work. A PS4 costs around 40K has 8 core processor + 1152(18 compute Units) for gaming, The PS4 utilizes 16 compute Units(1024 cores for graphics) and 2 compute cores(128 graphics cores for processing and rendering and other computational work). Still are much more powerful then 960 cores in GTX 770 inside this laptop. The 2 compute cores + 8 core CPU of PS4 gives far better processing then Corei7 as PS4 has SoC(System on chip) so chips are closer making them compute faster. Still you can get an HD 3D tv for 60k(40 inch) and still save 10k from this price. So PS4 + laptop + HDTV costs(40K + 70K + 60K) 170K and are future proof. This is wastage of money as laptop is too heavy to carry around being around 5 KG.
4/5 Ratings is what it deserves, the added bulk because it carries the Gaming laptop 'tag'. Though the GPU isn't that strong so that it can be compared to the desktop grade GPU's. Secondly the ALIENFX lighting is the clear killer feature of this laptop. Key positioning for gaming is optimum. At 4.15kg , the weight, the size is the biggest con of this Beast. I got this from Canada on the occasion of Black Friday, I may say I don't regret buying this, but definitely I would say the engg developments seen around the world, clearly doesn't deserves justifies the Weight.
I have the previous version of this laptop, the M17XR4. The only advantage of this laptop is that it is future-proof. Also, I recommend that you but one from America as for the same price you can get a fully-loaded version or even a decent Alienware 18.
Got the laptop from my Father who lives in Kuwait. Over there, price was at par compared to India. Laptops built was downright premium. Every part speaks for itself. The display was bright and vivid, not to mention was unusually thick, excusable considering the 120Hz refresh rate that means you can view 3D content via the NVIDIA 3D Vision 2 Glass bundled. There was a bit of hassle setting up the SSD Cached, but is good. Boot-times are abnormally fast. Klipsch's speaker in the 17 are one of the most loudest and distortion-free that can found on a laptop. Coming to performance, The Windows 8 Experience Index was at the default of 5.9, I booted Windows 8 into the SSD, got a Index of 7.3. GTX770M lived upto the reputation slashing every game thrown at it. All in All, I'm extremely happy with package. The only thing that's not happy is my father's bank balance and he himself.
i shipped my alienware 17 from malaysia 3 months ago.....and now its finally on flipkart alienware delivers every bit as they have promised..... speakers are truely out of this world .... the only thing is that it does not fit in any ordinary backpack...so you will also have to spend a few more bucks to buy an orion backpack... i played almost every new game title on it....;..works like a charm with every setting set to ultra. if a game has a lag that means the game has the problem.. to check its efficiency i tried playing three most heavy games simultaneously and copying six movies to my pendrive at the same time and amazingly the laptop does not take it as a load.... i highly recommend this product for those gamers and programmers who want to be out of this world as its name suggests.
Hi i have this laptop and its totally awesome though i didnt buy it from filpkart i bought it from the dell store, and mine had 3d and a msata ssd included with it, but otherwise its the same spec, it totally awesome and waaaaaay better than the alienware 17 R4, and easier to clean and stuff, i must buy if u r looking for 17 inch gaming laptop, plus alienware has the best support out there : )
