The Mozilla India Community is holding a Launch Party this Saturday (April 16th) at Rain Club, Shangrila Plaza, 2, Banjara Hills to celebrate the release of Firefox 4. The event will be attended by "Entrepreneurs, Students, Developers, Socialites, Firefox fans and Open Source enthusiasts/organizations from around the India," including Director of Engineering at Mozilla, Robert Sayre.

It has been merely 3 weeks since launch of Firefox 4 and the browser has already managed over 80 million downloads, and gained a 7% market share (more than that of Firefox 3.0 and Firefox 3.5 combined at this point), and leads Microsoft Internet Explorer 9.0 as well. Even today Firefox 4 download continue to chug away at an impressive rate of over 2000 downloads a minute.

Since then Mozilla has unveiled their plans for a future faster release cycle, and as of today you can even download preliminary builds of what will eventually become Firefox 5 and 6.

Also to be introduced at this event is the new website of the Mozilla India Community: The website is a "community driven initiative to work together on a well defined goals with a purpose to improve and grow."
