The government on Wednesday approved the National Cyber Security Policy, which aims to provide secure computing environment in the country as well as strengthening the current infrastructure. The policy, approved by the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS), also focusses on strengthening the country's local capabilities in terms of bolstering the cyber security set uyp.
“CCS met today and approved the National Cyber Security Policy, which sets a road map for strengthening cyber security of the country by building capacities in the country, training manpower etc,” reports quote a source as saying afer the meeting.
According to a senior official in the Department of Information Technology, the policy will also strive to develop trust and confidence in e-transactions.
“This policy caters for the whole spectrum of ICT users and providers including small and home users, medium and large enterprises and government and non-government entities,” the official added.
The National Cyber Security Police also envisages a seucirty framework that is supposed to resolve all pending issues. The framework will further help authorities to take necessary actions and develop programmes to boost security posture of country's cyber space.
