KFC has partnered with Mountain Dew to launch a limited edition meal-box that doubles as a smartphone gaming controller in India. Called the Gamer’s Box 2.0, the box features gaming controls located on the sides, with a slot on top to place your phone. The phone connects to the controller via Bluetooth.

Lluís Ruiz Ribot, Chief Marketing Officer, KFC India stated, “We are excited to partner with Mountain Dew to co-create the Gamer’s Box 2.0 as it brings the best of both worlds – gaming and finger lickin’ good chicken – to consumers! It gives gaming enthusiasts a chance to not just indulge in their favorite KFC 5-in-1 Meal box but also enjoy uninterrupted gaming, without worrying about messy food or grimy screens.”

To get the Gamer’s Box 2.0, users will have to log on to KFC India or Mountain Dew’s Facebook, Twitter or Instagram page and tag a ‘gaming-obsessed friend’ that the user feels deserves to win the box. 10 consumers will then get a chance to win this limited-edition box.

Besides the Gamer’s Box 2.0, the two companies have also come together to launch a KFC Mountain Dew Gamer’s meal box. The company says that the box has been specifically curated by gamers.

The Game Box isn’t the only tech that KFC is delving into. Earlier this month, KFC announced that it was collaborating with Huawei to launch a limited edition smartphone in China. The device is called the KFC Huawei 7 Plus and will be sold in a bright red colour to commemorate 30 years of the company being in China. He Colonel Sanders logo is placed on the back of the device and it will come with pre-installed apps, which give consumers freebies.
