EA has officially locked in the global release schedule for Battlefield 6. The next big chapter in the iconic first-person shooter franchise goes live worldwide on October 10, with pre-loads already open across all platforms except for the Epic Games Store, which will follow later. In the last few days, several rumours and speculations about the game have surfaced and gamers across the world are quite excited to finally be able to play the highly-awaited game. Earlier this year, the Beta version was rolled out which gave fans a glimpse of what is to come.
This year’s release follows a simultaneous global rollout, meaning everyone across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S will hit the battlefield at the same time. For players in India, Battlefield 6 unlocks at 8:30 PM IST on October 10. Pre-loads open on October 3 at the same time, giving players a week to download and prep before launch night. There’s also no early-access window tied to pricier editions, keeping things fair for all players. On PC, Steam users can play directly without needing the EA App, though an EA account is still required. Epic Games Store users, however, will need both the EA App and an active account. Meanwhile, EA Play Pro subscribers will get instant Day 1 access to the Battlefield 6 Phantom Edition through the EA App.
The first major update for the game, Season 1: Rogue Ops, arrives on October 28. It introduces a new map called Blackwell Fields, new weapons, and a tactical 4v4 mode named Strikepoint. Two more seasonal drops will follow: California Resistance on November 18, which adds the Eastwood map and an 8v8 Sabotage mode; and Winter Offensive on December 9, featuring a “seasonal map” called Empire State and a yet-to-be-revealed themed event.
EA is also working on a free-to-play battle royale experience set within the Battlefield 6 universe, expected to land later in October.
With its global launch just around the corner, Battlefield 6 is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated shooters of 2025 — and this time, everyone gets to drop in together.
