The Nikon D5500 is an excellent DSLR in the budget segment. While it is an incremental upgrade over the Nikon D5300, there are different customer groups to whom the D5500 will make sense. For entry-level photographers looking for more lenses, the D5300 will make sense. Also, if you own a budget level DSLR upto D5200, upgrading to the D5500 is a better choice because, in the long run, it makes more sense. Nikon, with a somewhat specific incremental upgrade to its mid-range DSLR, has shown how the D5500 is the camera to own for the next few years. it is, indeed, a great product.

I'm using D5500 since 2016. My first DSLR was Sony NEX 5. I must say that i made a good choice by opting D5500 for my next level Photography. Initially i was using kit lens 18-140 mm one followed by 35 mm 1.8 f and Sigma 150-600 mm purchased later. Must say D5500 is very much compatible with these lenses and produces great pics. It took me almost 1 week to get habituated. But once learned the controls, great pics were obvious to expect. With Wi-Fi connectivity, I feel handy to transfer images & video clips to my apple & android devise and can use my smartphone as remote for camera too. I recommend this DSLR for mid level photography enthusiasts to explore more and click some awesome pics.

WELL TO BE HONEST THIS IS A BEAST THEY SAY ITS AN ENTRY LEVEL CAMERA,BUT THE SPECIFICATIONS SUGGEST IT TO BE A SEMI PROFESSIONAL CAMERA. THERE IS HOWEVER NO OR VERY LITTLE DIFFERENCE IN PRICE COMPARED TO D5300.THE USP OF THIS DSLR IS 25600 ISO,LOTS OF EFFECTS,WIFI,39 AF POINTS 14000 SHUTTER SPEED. BUT I RECOMMEND TO SEE A BIT OF TUTORIALS LIKE NIKON SCHOOL SPECIALLY IF IT IS A FIRST DSLR FROM A POINT AND SHOOT CAMERA.
