This is a beast of a phone. Every specification about the phone is brilliant, but just had to let out a word of caution. The Huawei customer support in India could easily be renamed customer harassment. I dropped my phone accidentally, almost 50 days ago, and the Huawei service people have taken an advance, and as on date, I have absolutely no idea where my phone is or by when I'll get it back. The phone is perfect, but just go out and buy a new one if you need customer support. It's practically non existent, which would've been better than how it is right now.
First things first: fast and reliable service by Flipkart, no issues there at all. As far as the phone is concerned, all the chatter about quality control all over the Internet has taken some sheen and attention away from the fact that the Nexus 6P is a brilliant little device. Coming off a Galaxy Note 2, I was a bit skeptical about getting a Nexus phone. Have never been impressed with the Nexus range, despite all the admiration it has received over the years. The Nexus 5 was awesome in its own way and still is, but really lacked in the battery and camera departments. The Nexus 6P, however, aimed to change all this in more ways than one. The rave reviews that it received from all quarters, including publications that are iPhone-biased, sent potential buyers into a tizzy. Let me tell you something - the phone impresses you right off the bat and the nervous excitement was justified. It is the most polished Android device that I have owned or used till date. Everything just works. Right from the display quality and front-facing speakers (sounds cheap at max volume sadly) to the performance of SD 810 v 2.1. Android 6.0 combines beautifully with the sophistication of the hardware to create a seamless experience, which has been an enigma of sorts on Android. I think the word I am looking for here is 'Intuitive'. I mean Touchwiz does have some lovely, silken touches, but there's also something highly annoying about a skin that covers the somewhat rough beauty underneath. Time to take the cover off as the rough is no more rough! For those who said that the camera is still average, I disagree. The camera is excellent, only marginally held back by the bare bones camera app. However, for those who think Samsung Note 5 looks better next to it, I am sure you don't click pics keeping phones next to each other usually. This bad boy does the job alright and then some more. Nexus 6P is the sexiest and the most complete Nexus device till date, and is quite possibly the most well-rounded Android device in the market. Is it better than the iPhone? Well, why discuss champagnes when we are discussing wines?
If you're planning to spend 40k on a smartphone then this should make the top of your list. It checks all the right boxes. Best phone hands down. Straight out of the box, this thing screams premium. In hand feel is amazing! I've used HTC One M8 and I feel it offers the best in hand feel and sturdiness. This matches the M8. The display is just gorgeous, Quad HD Amoled from Samsung punches the colour right in your face! Some might like it, some might not (sRGB mode for the latter) Camera is top notch. Dual front-facing stereo speakers sound amazing. (Boomsound and Moto X Style are slightly better) Snapdragon 810 keeps things ticking and it doesn't heat up. Don't know what magic Google has done here! (Poor implementation by Oneplus 2) Basically, there's hardly anything wrong about this phone. This is the phone to beat. P.S. It's quite sturdy and strong unlike some videos on YouTube suggest. It doesn't bend and won't create problems in your jeans. (If you are hell bent on bending this phone then you obviously will by applying a hell lot of force) Highly recommended.
This is the best value for money mobile phone out there. Seriously guys it was worth the wait. Booked it on 14th midnight and received it on 3rd as it was released on 2nd of november. Best phone ever. my initial expressions: 1. Display too good.( super amoled display of samsung ofc...) 2. Nexus imprint fast enough. 3. Front firing speakers loud and clear. 4. Camera just wow.. As it absorbs more light even in low lighting conditions. 5. Snapdragon 810 handles games like a charm. 6. Only thing that bothered me was no screen gaurd available in the market for this product as of now in bangalore atleast. 7. And most important of all the stock android is the best and clean OS anyone will enjoy. As a whole best mobile phone ever produced by goole in nexux line.
I was very skeptical initially as to whether to purchase this phone after reading the reviews with respect to yellow tint / microphone issues etc. Still, I took the risk of ordering nexus 6P. After actually taking the device in my hand, I can say that it does feel premium and stands up to the hype around 6P! 5.7 inches screen does mean that single-handed usage will be a difficult task for people with average to small palms especially if you are the kind of person who travels in crowded public transport services in city - I am yet to test this and quite tensed about the same. But if you prefer a phablet, I would suggest you to go for this product without any second thought. With android 6.0, google has taken customization in stock android to a different level altogether. All this coupled with an awesome camera can easily be a daily driver to any person who is interested in smooth / hassle-free performance plus clicks a lot of photos (especially for social media). Low light photography (front and back camera) looks outstanding and checks all the boxes. I need not mention about all the good points as you would have already taken a note of the same. So let me emphasize what is bad in this phone which might make you ponder as to whether I should buy Nexus 6P: - Huge size; - Non-expandable memory & non-removable battery; - Slippery if mobile case is not used; - Could have improved the audio output quality from earphones (given that it is competing with the likes of Apple and other flagships who have much better audio quality when listening through earphones) My review is based on just 3 days of usage and there are many more things to explore in this device. Will update the review in case I observe any other uniqueness in the device. PS: I would just say that the yellow tint / micro-phone / camera panel cracking in some devices might be some unlucky ones. The majority seem to be defect free.
Nexus phones are usually the best Android phones since they are snappy, don't carry the heavy customization (and the bugs, latency) that OEMs make, and get timely security and software upgrades. The only gripe about Nexus phones have been the lack of good looks (subjective, indeed) and poor camera quality. The Nexus 6p combines everything good about pure Android with top notch hardware. Effectively, here is a phone that's better than any other Android phone right now. This was Huawei's best chance at making an entry in to the big league. So they've given it everything they can and it shows. + Construction - the aluminium unibody looks and feels great. Unlike phablets in general, this one is actually not all that difficult to use with one hand. You may not be able to spend more than 5 minutes without your hands aching, but to be able to do something quick with one hand is a blessing. + Display - Very beautiful. Nothing more to say. It's an AMOLED screen that doesn't bleed colors like the Samsung phones do. This is inspite of the fact that the display is made by Samsung! + Sound - Both earpiece and the speakers sound loud and great. In fact the external loudspeakers are fantastic. + LTE + Battery/Charging - My typical use is as follows - about 20 minutes of calls each day, a few photographs, Facebook/News/browsing about 45 minutes, 15 minutes of video, Whatsapp, Email, etc - 45 minutes, VoIP calls - 30 minutes. The phone is on LTE for about 3 hours and rest of the time on WiFi - 8 hours on enterprise WiFi with roaming etc. Bluetooth is on all the time. Google Now (a battery guzzler) is OFF. I start the day with 100% charge and I wake up next morning with about 20% remaining. It takes about 30 minutes in the morning to charge it back up to 100%. + Fingerprint sensor - I reserved the best for the last. This one has been a revelation. I use enterprise mail and apps on my phone and hence my phone is under device management that forces me to enter a 6 digit password every time I wake it up. The fingerprint sensor has completely eliminated that step. It's fast and accurate. + Camera - I actually liked the Nexus 5 which I had owned before. This one is way above the Nexus 5. It yields excellent images especially when HDR+ mode is on. - Size. For someone upgrading from Nexus 5, this one is huge. The width is not so bad, it's the height. I wish it had been a couple of cms shorter. - USB C connector. You won't be able to use the other USB chargers and generic cables that are so commonplace now. On the positive side, USB-C is the future and this would be commonplace soon. - No SDCard support. This has been true of all Nexus phones and this one is no different. One thing that I would put under neutral is the After-sales service. I don't know how it would work out for Huawei. I just hope I wouldn't require it. I would strongly recommend this phone for someone that's looking to buy one. For about 4K more, if you can stand the size, the 6P is a much better buy than the 5X. Sometimes I wish they had made a Nexus 5P!
First and foremost, kudos to Flipkart for their fantastic service in delivering the package. My order was shipped and delivered to me in a span of exactly 24 hours! I received my device on the 4th of November and all contents were packaged neatly in the box. Seriously, great going, Flipkart! Coming to the phone itself, I was skeptical about pre-ordering the phone because I usually check out reviews of a phone and test it out before going ahead and purchasing. This was a blind buy for me but in the end, it turned out to be one of the best investments I have ever made. Pros: 1. The design and build of the phone is just fantastic. The fit and finish is impeccable and the phone does not show any sign of weakness; no creaking sounds or anything. The aluminium feels great to touch and even though the phone is slightly large, it is certainly not a problem. I have big hands so have no problem in using this phone one-handed. The phone is slippery though so, that would be the only cause of concern for some. 2. Love the QHD display! Colours pop and the brightness levels are brilliant as well. No problem reading the screen under direct sunlight. If you're not a fan of AMOLEDs, you have the choice of diving into Developer Options and correcting the colour reproduction to sRGB. 3. The fingerprint reader works like a charm. The setup is extremely simple and works properly right from the get go. The sensor manages to recognize my finger all the time. 4. The front-facing speakers are plenty loud and media is not going to be a problem on this phone. The sounds emanating from the speakers sound great and I doubt anyone will be left wanting for more. 5. I have not given the camera a thorough spin but from the brief period of time I used it, I was highly impressed. Google and Huawei really have done an amazing job with the cameras this time around. 6. The headphones provided with the phone are similar to Apple's EarPods. They aren't anything mind-blowing but the experience has been good as of now. Once again, I have not had the time to test out the headphones as well. 7. As always with a Nexus device, Android runs brilliantly. Marshmallow just breezes along. No lags or skips or frame drops. Switching between various apps is just fault-free! The phone just refuses to stutter. Cons: USB Type-C! If the phone's battery dies, that's the end unless you've remembered to carry your charger around or the adapter provided in the box. It was thoughtful of them to include an adapter but fast-charging only works when you use the original charger supplied in the box. The free back cover provided is simply pathetic! Please do not depend on it and it would be a wise decision to invest a little and pick up a better case. I am waiting to order the official Nexus case from the Google Store once it is made available. It is priced on the higher side but is very well worth it. P.S - Please do not avoid buying the phone owing to the videos running around regarding the phone's ability to easily bend. For normal day-to-day use, nothing is going to happen. It is only going to bend when you REALLY decide that you want to bend the phone for the heck of it. Bottom Line: I loved my Nexus 5 prior to this and so did many other people. It served me well for 18 months and is going down in my books as the greatest phone that I have ever used, up until now. The Nexus 6P simply delivers far more than expected and Google-Huawei have done a beautiful job in making this phone. Hands-down, the greatest Android phone to exist in the market today with all of the Nexus' previous flaws ironed out. An easy recommendation with no reason to think twice. Go for it!
I bought aluminium 64gb model. 1. Screen - best amoeled with perect viewing angles. Sufficiently bright for outdoors. 2. speakers - best!! Crisp clear sound. 3. Imprint -you can se many fingers. You'll forget the lockscreen!! 4. Camera - Good ! Impressive. Keep Auto HDR+ on. 5. Battery - charges from 2% to 100% in less than 120mins! Stays complete day with 30% remaining at night. 6.Free cover is good and its not 100% transparent but you can see nexus logo clearly. 7. Huawei headphones are little extra lightweight but sounds good! Good amount of bass for these headphones. It has volume +, - buttons along with main button. 8. No overheating problem at all! Warm ul little bit if you use it while charging and heavy gaming. 9.Last but not least!! HELL OF A PERFORMANCE!! I opened 5-6 chrome tabs at 9pm. and used apps like WP, hike, facebook etc, when I switched to those chrome tabs after like 2 hours, they were still open intact !! YOU'LL FELL THAT THE PHONE TOO FAST FOR YOUR USAGE SPEED!! Cons: NOTHING!
I received my device in a hospital because I was down with dengue, LOL. Ive been testing it for a whole day, exactly 24 hours. 1. Doze: Perfect. Left my phone at around 30% when I went to bed, woke up with 29%. Slept for about 7 hours. 2. Battery: Okay. On LTE, from 100-30%, gave me around 4 hours of SOT. There were a few times when it was in standby, no Doze because I was moving :/ 3. Display: Equivalent to the Note 5. Great display. 4.Software: Not sure why the new google play store hasn't been installed, but meh. Vanilla android. Smooth, silky...Just like Stephen Curry's 3's. PERFECT. 5. Processor: Cool. Runs so much cooler than the OnePlus 2. Heated up during setup and installation of many apps, but that's a normal in every phone. 6.Gaming: BEASTLY. It's god given talent xD . Ran smooth. Like a small nexus 9. Epic performance. Overall, the best android phone ever made.
Got mine today afternoon (Nov 4 2015, silver 32 gb). First impression: This is the best nexus device. performance, looks, camera etc.. everything as advertised. Definitely a premium device to hold. will turn heads at least for a month. (I will post about the battery and other detailed review in a week). Update1 (6-Nov-15): -Battery: Looks promising so far. -Camera: Amazing in daylight and better than average in low light. 240fps video recording is the one thing to look for.. simple things like boiling water, blowing the candle are fun to watch in slow motion with excellent detail. -Fingerprint sensor: Initially I didn't believe it to be this fast, coupled with Nexus imprint it works each and every time. You can configure multiple fingers also (my wife configured hers too :( ). -Device heating (sd810): I didn't notice anything for normal usage, it gets warm for some hd games just like my ipad (normal I guess). -Display: Very good. -Software: Just like other nexuses. Pure and snappy. Delivery was excellent. Got all the free products in a single box. The earphones and case are good, don't expect much but something is better than nothing. Chromecast is a very useful device, the moment you know how to use it, you will love it. Hassle free device to watch your favourite videos and photos (even locally stored) in big screen. Note: Do not change your mind for the bend tests floating around. This device is very sturdy, doesn't bend or break in pockets or under pillows. This will break only if you do something with an intent to break it (just like other electronics)
