Xiaomi has increased the price of the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max and Redmi 8A Dual once again. The price of the mid-range Redmi Note 9 Pro Max has been hiked by Rs 500 while the Redmi 8A Dual has increased by Rs 300.
Notably, this is the second time the company has hiked the price of the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max after announcing an increase of Rs 1,500 over its original launch price due to a 6% increase in GST on mobile phones.
Earlier this month, the company also hiked prices of the Redmi Note 8, Redmi 8, Redmi 8A Dual and Poco X2 in India without issuing any clarification. Xiaomi has earlier hiked the prices due to GST and subsequently cited supply chain issues due to the Coronavirus outbreak as a reason to increase the prices of some phones like the Redmi Note 8.
The new prices of the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max and Redmi 8A Dual are now effective on Amazon India and Mi India store. The former has still not gone on open sale and is being sold in India in limited quantities.
As it stands, the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage is now retailing for Rs 16,999 which is Rs 500 over the GST hike. In total, the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max base variant has received a hike of Rs 2,000 from its launch price of Rs 14,999.
As for the 128GB storage variant which was launched at Rs 16,999, it will now sell for Rs 18,499 after an increase of Rs 500 over the GST hike.
The Redmi 8A Dual was launched starting at Rs 6,499 for the base variant with 2GB RAM and 32GB storage while the variant with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage was priced at Rs 6,999. With a hike of Rs 300, the base variant of the Redmi 8A Dual will now retail for Rs 7,499 while the 3GB RAM model is up for Rs 8,299.
