Lenovo has launched the new ThinkPad P52 at AEC Magazine’s NXT BLD conference in London. The new ThinkPad comes with extraordinary specs so it can take on heavy tasks like video editing (including 3D), creation of virtual and augmented reality, and artificial intelligence-based simulations.
The ThinkPad P52, the newest model in its P-series of ‘mobile workstations’, boasts an eighth-generation Intel Xeon hexa-core CPU, an Nvidia Quadro P3200 GPU, offers up to 128GB (yes, you read that right) of RAM, and 6TB of storage. According to Digital Trends, it’s also outfitted with a 15.6-inch touchscreen display that can be had in either 4K resolution with 400 nits of brightness or in Full HD resolution with 300 nits of brightness. The 4K unit incorporates 100 percent of the Adobe colour gamut.
The new ThinkPad is Lenovo’s first 15-inch VR-Ready Certified laptop. It has not the usual one but two Thunderbolt 3 ports and an infrared camera for facial recognition. The battery coming fitted as standard with it is a 90WHr unit. “When our customers choose Lenovo, we want them to know that means more than just receiving a quality computer. For us, it’s about choosing design innovation, legendary quality and a dedication to detail,” the company stated in its blog.
The ThinkPad P52 variants will start from $1,070 (Rs 72,800 approx) and the base variant will feature an Intel Core i5-8350U CPU, an Nvidia Quadro P500 GPU, 8GB of RAM, and 500GB of hard-drive storage. It’s 15.6-inch screen will be limited to Full HD resolution. The ThinkPad P52 is expected to go on sale later this month.
