Facebook is working on adding more feature to its business offerings. Recently, WhatsApp for Buiness app was reported to be receiving an option for chat filters. A sticker album is also said to be under works which will come to the standard version of the messaging app. According to a report by WABetaInfo, the chat filter will allow users to search by filtering out chats.
The filter icon appears when you tap on the ‘search’ bar on the app. Once you press the filter icon, options to filter out chats by unread chats, groups and broadcast lists. The feature would be useful for businesses as it would allow them to keep track of everyone messaging. Instagram too has made similar changes to aid businesses.
The update, according to the report, will be available on the version 2.18.84 of the app. WhatsApp for Business app reportedly has around 3 million users across the world. The app is available for Android users in six countries — India, Indonesia, Italy, Mexico, Britain and the US. The app competes with services like Apple's Business Chat and RCS messaging for Android and Facebook's own Messenger Platform, chat apps all built around connecting businesses with customers.
Instagram too received a lot of new features after Facebook’s F8 Conference concluded earlier this month. The photo-sharing app now offers Action Buttons for businesses to allow customers to interact with them directly from the app. Chats with customers are now brought over to the main inbox. Options like ‘order’, ‘book’ for booking appointments and buying directly are now available.
As for the main Facebook app, the company introduced a buy and sell option on its Marketplace feature that is live in India. The Maketplace lets you buy and sell used goods, as well as book tickets and buy things online.
