Facebook has updated its native iOS app with a slew of new features including new photo viewer option, improved Places and Events on the mobile device, and the new News Feed.

Facebook for iOS version 6.1.1 allows users to directly save and share a photo while viewing it. Earlier, users could only Like, comment or tag friends. The update also allows users to set a photo your profile picture. Facebook has improved places editing when checking in on iPhone whereas Events section now loads faster. You can download the latest version now from Apple’s App Store.

According to reports, Facebook has also rolled out the new News Feed for iOS users. However, update about new News Feed is not mentioned in the changelog on App Store. Moreover, Facebook has rolled out another update to remove the beta icon.

Facebook had rolled out last round of update to its iOS app in April. The previous update 6.0 included improved chatting features, such as chat heads and stickers. The update also improved the news feed on the iPad. Read about Facebook for iOS 6.0 update here.
