Amazon has announced a new version of its Kindle app, which comes with an updated interface. The new app sports an updated look and features larger book covers, new fonts, a new app icon, and new light and dark background themes.

The company says the new app makes reading a book on your smartphone and tablet much easier. It comes with a new bottom navigation bar that shows readers an icon of the book they are currently reading. The bottom bar also provides quick access to the Kindle’s features, allowing users to switch between the pages of your book, your library, your personal bookstore, and more.

The Kindle app comes with a search bar that is always visible, while navigating within the app. Readers can make use of it to find any book that is in their library or from books available in the Kindle store.

Amazon had recently announced the latest model of its e-book reader, the Kindle Oasis. It features a 7-inch display with 300 ppi resolution and is the first waterproof Kindle by the company.

The new Kindle Oasis comes in two variants: 8GB storage with Wi-Fi and a 32GB storage variant with Wi-Fi and free 3G. It is priced at Rs 21,999 and Rs 28,999 for the WiFi and 3G variant, respectively. The device features a Paperwhite display and weighs at 194 grams.

By free 3G, Amazon means that the Kindle will have a pre-activated Vodafone 3G connection complimentary from Amazon.
