Smartphones have become immensely powerful, and that’s become possible because of the newer chipsets built on 7nm fabrication process, fast memory and well-optimized software. However, it’s essential to know your requirement so that you can decide on how much RAM you need in your smartphone. Most smartphones are available in multiple RAM variants at different price points, but what we’ve observed is that a minimum of 8GB RAM is a must these days if you are an aggressive user. It not just enhances general performance but also lets your smartphone handle multiple tasks at once without a hiccup. We’ve selected the best options on Amazon that you should consider if you want to go for 8GB RAM on your next smartphone.

Samsung Galaxy Note 20

The Galaxy Note 20 is the latest large-screen smartphone from Samsung in its Note series that comes with a stylus. It has an Ultra variant like the S20, but it costs a lot more than the Note 20. Since we are looking at phones with 8GB RAM, Note 20 fits the bill better. It comes with a 6.7-inch full-HD+ Super AMOLED+ display with 60Hz refresh rate and 20:9 aspect ratio. The device is powered by octa-core Exynos 990 SoC, paired with 8GB of RAM. For storage, the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 packs 256GB of onboard storage that is not expandable. On the camera front, it features a triple rear camera setup that houses a 12MP primary shooter, a 64MP secondary shooter, and a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera. On the front, the phone includes a 10MP camera as a part of a hole-punch cutout.

OnePlus 8

The OnePlus 8 is the company’s latest entry into the flagship segment. While the Pro variant has slightly more features, it also costs higher, which makes the OnePlus 8 the perfect buy for those who want powerful performance and smooth UI at a nominal price. It is powered by the Snapdragon 865 SoC with 5G support. It rocks a 6.5-inch FHD+ 90Hz AMOLED display with HDR10+ certification, an in-display fingerprint sensor and punch-hole selfie camera. There's a triple camera setup at the back of the OnePlus 8 including a 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor, a 16MP ultrawide lens and a 2MP macro camera. The OnePlus 8 is powered by a 4,300mAh battery with support for 30W Warp Charge 30T charging.

Samsung Galaxy S20

Samsung’s this year’s flagship trio starts with the Galaxy S20 followed by S20+ and S20 Ultra. While Ultra is much superior and gigantic, the S20 and S20+ share tons of similarities. If you want the S-series flagship experience by paying the least without any significant compromise, you must check out the Galaxy S20. It features a 6.2-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display sport a Quad HD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate and is powered by Exynos 990 chipset. The handset comes with 8GB LPDDR5 RAM with 128GB of internal storage. On the camera front, the Galaxy S20 comes with a triple rear camera setup – a 12MP primary lens + 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens with 120-degree FoV and an f/2.2 aperture + a 64MP telephoto camera with an f/2.0 aperture. On the front lies a 10MP selfie shooter. It runs One UI 2.1 based on Android 10 and draws power from a 4000mAh battery. As for the connectivity options, the handset comes equipped with dual-band Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5, NFC. They also have stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos sound.

Vivo X50 Pro

It packs a 6.56-inch FHD+ display that is curved at the edges. However, it offers a 90Hz refresh rate. The Vivo X50 Pro packs a similar camera setup as the  X50 Pro+, with the big difference being that it packs a 48MP Sony IMX598 sensor. The remaining three sensors are pretty much the same. It too packs a gimbal system, which promises better OIS as compared to standard smartphone OIS solutions. For selfies, it also comes with a 32MP front camera.
