Avid readers know the value of a good book. Sure, the value of a physical book is something else entirely, but having your entire collection at your fingertips is magical. People will argue that an e-reading app on a smartphone or a tablet is more than enough but those that like to immerse themselves in a book don't want the distraction of a social media notification or want to be disturbed by a phone call. For these people, an e-reader makes perfect sense. E-readers have weeks-long battery life, come in a variety of budgets and have the ability to house more books in a device that weighs a few grams than you could in a house. Today’s e-book readers offer features like adjustable backlighting and some are even waterproof so you can take them with you in the bathtub without worrying about them getting spoiled. You can also read on them in the dark ensuring your loved ones in the same room do not get disturbed. So if you are a voracious reader looking to invest in an e-book reader, here are some options available on Amazon.

Kindle Paperwhite (10th gen)

Considered as one of the best e-readers available on a budget, the paperwhite packs in quite the feature set. It is thin and light and the 6-inch display has a pixel density of 300DPI for a comfortable reading experience. It comes with 8GB storage which is more than enough to carry hundreds of books with you wherever you go. It is also  IPX8 waterproof which means that you can take it in the bathtub with you without worrying about spoiling it. It gives users a lot of customization such as increasing/decreasing the font size, changing the font type and more.

Kobo Aura

The Kobo Aura comes with a 6-inch display which is comfortable to hold and read for long hours. It also packs in 4GB storage, ample to carry hundreds of books. It is light weighing 181g. It supports a wide array of formats including ePub, PDF, Adobe DRM, RTF, HTML, TXT, Comic Book Archive file, JPEG, PNG, BMP, GIF, and TIFF. It also has a feature called Beyond the Book which is similar to Amazon’s X-Ray and gives users more information about the books, authors and even suggests similarly themed books. It has a claimed battery life of 2 months with 30 minutes of reading a day.

Barnes & Noble NOOK GlowLight 3

Another 6-inch e-reader on this list is the Barnes & Noble NOOK GlowLight 3. It has a 6-inch display and comes with 8GB storage. The display has a pixel density of 300ppi giving it a crisp screen to read on. The e-reader also has dedicated buttons to turn the page. It has a claimed battery life of 50 days.

Kindle Oasis (10th Gen)

The 10th gen Kindle Oasis brings with it a premium metal finish. It has a larger 7-inch display when compared to the others on this list but retains the same 300ppi. It has a massive 32GB of storage, which means you should be able to carry an entire library of books with you on the go. It is IPX8 waterproof. The backlight of the e-reader brings with it an auto mode, so the backlight changes based on the ambient light. It also has physical buttons for turning the page. The display is lit using 25 LEDs.
