The noise of indoor unit is unacceptably high. Cooling is very poor equivalent to that of water cooler. decreases room temperature by 2 degrees even if programmed at 16 degrees when the outside temperature is just 30 degrees. Further experience after 1 month: The AC malfunctioned and cooling stopped completely after 3 days of installation. The service engineer came refilled the refrigerant and apparently sealed the leakage. Within 7 days of repair, the problem resurfaced. The same procedure was repeated by engineer. Now again after 10 days there is no cooling at all. Additionally, the indoor unit is throwing intermittent jets of water. So since installation I am only claiming warranty and not been able to use the product till date properly. P.S. To add to my woes my another Hitachi window AC PCB failed immediately after warranty expiry.
Don’t buy Hitachi at all. I am regretting. I just bought few days back. It is not at all cooling and no one is listening my problem
My strong recomondation is please do not buy Hitachi AC, neither they have a customer service not ACs are good compared to other brand, I'm a live victim of it,
Points out of 10 Pros Look = 10. Cooling =8. Silent operation= 10 IDU and ODU material quality= 10 Brand name Cons Remote = 2. Very small screen and fuctions. Functions = 2. As very. Less fuctions and modes. Swing = 1 . Not good as some diff style . No control other than on off swing.

Purchased hitachi acs 1.5 and 1.2 ton invertor from merai series. Both the ac’s are working really great. Cooling is superb . Chills the room even at high temperatures Where the sound or noise level is concerned it is not that high to disturb your peace of mind. When compared to other quit ac’s available in market it will feel noisy. I have all hitachi ac’s and by my personal experience they last longer and are more pocket friendly than other competetors . My verdict go for it if you can bear a little noise . Rest there is no issue which you will face in other ac’s in long run.
Cooling Is good but too much noise..
Purchasing AC from this series - 'MERAI' Inverter AC would look very lucrative given the price, but you might end up cursing yourself for the most important aspect of the IDU - Fan Noise. All Hitachi Split AC models except the higher end ones have this same noise rating. Hitchi Personnel when confronted with this fact say that this noise is normal. Strangely, while other Brands are focussed in making Split AC esp. Indoor unit even less noisier, Hitachi product innovation seems to be moving in an opposite direction. This new series of Inverter ACs from Hitachi - 'MERAI' has high rpm for the Indoor Unit Fan. Which results in a very high ambient operational noise. To give an actual picture - the noise it generates at LOW fan speed is equivalent to or higher than what ACs of other Brand produce at High fan speed. This is for a split AC which are suppose to make negligible noise. Ambient Noise levels at Fan Speed - 'Low' is 38db. A cursory look at noise levels of competitors will reveal that they make this noise at High fan speed. Imagine trying to sleep with the AC making so much noise at lowest fan speed. Noise is so high, that it acts as a disruption to a conversation in normal audible volume as well as affects sound sleep. I purchased, repented and had to fight tooth and nail with them to accept this design folly and thus a return. Which they finally did in a tight lipped manner. It's a pain and close to impossible to escalate matters at Hitachi. Such a big brand and they Donot have any escalation mail IDs. Just a stupid escalation matrix and primitive forms. Their service centres in and around Mumbai are severely ill equipped and the personnel ill-behaved esp. if you don't purchase additional unnecessary material from them Purchased another brand in replacement which I won't disclose to maintain the ingenuity of my review above.

Please do not buy Hitachi. Their customer service is non existent. I purchased a Hitachi split AC two weeks ago. The remote did not work. For the last two weeks I have been chasing up customer service but there is no response. Their Indian partners have completely destroyed Hitachi brand image.
