The surge in outage reports has been reflected on Downdetector, an online outage monitoring platform. Users are also turning to X to share their complaints and report the outage.
The outage stems from a disruption in Amazon Web Services (AWS), which powers internet services for many popular apps. AWS has acknowledged the incident on its service health page and confirmed that officials are investigating the root cause.
Well, the problem isn’t limited to Snapchat, several other apps have also been affected, including Roblox, Canva, Wordle and Duolingo.
Data from Downdetector shows that around 3,000 Roblox users have reported issues. Of these reports, 62% relate to server connection problems, 25% involve gameplay disruptions, and about 12% are tied to the website. Canva has also been affected, with approximately 500 users reporting outages on the platform.
