Flipkart announces AI exchange program for mobiles and other electronics: Here’s how it works
AI-powered exchange: swap mobiles, appliances, and electronics seamlessly.
AI diagnostics & pricing ensure fast, transparent, and fair valuations.
Expansion into Tier 2/3 markets with SellBack program across 45+ cities.
Flipkart has launched a new exchange program across 26 product categories, including mobiles, electronics, and large appliances. The initiative aims to make premium products more affordable while providing customers with an easy way to upgrade. With this program, e-commerce is focusing on Tier 2 and Tier 3 markets.
SurveyThe e-commerce is also offering a real-time AI diagnostics system that powers a 10-step assessment framework to quickly evaluate both internal functionality and external condition of devices, ensuring fast, fair, and transparent valuations. The process enables Flipkart to offer competitive exchange rates and instant value, turning idle devices into what the company calls a form of “currency at home.”
The flexibility of exchange within the category will allow customers to swap a refrigerator for a washing machine, an old mobile for a laptop, or even smaller appliances like a fan or microwave for purifiers, geysers, or chimneys.
Ahead of the festive season, Flipkart is also adding AI-powered pricing engines, app-led evaluations, image-based authentication, and broader seller participation. Recently, the company introduced smartphone exchange on Flipkart Minutes, making it the only platform in India to offer instant mobile trade-ins within the quick commerce segment.

Meanwhile, the e-commerce platform is running the Big Billion Days festival, offering massive deals and discounts on a number of products. Along with the flat price cuts, buyers can also avail an additional bank discount of 10% on select bank cards.
