Karbonn launches Smart Tab 1 and 3 new dual-SIM smartphones

Karbonn has launched a tablet under its extended brand - Karbonn Smart. The tablet is conveniently called the Karbonn Smart Tab 1 and is launched along with 3 smartphones - Karbonn A9, A7 and A5.

Priced at Rs. 6,990, the Karbonn Smart Tab 1 is powered by a single core 1.2GHz X-Burst processor and has a 7-inch display. The device also features a 2MP front facing camera, HDMI out and expandable storage up to 32GB. The tablet runs on a 3,700-mAh battery and Karbonn claims it can deliver up to 8 hours of video playback and up to 7 hours of Internet browsing.

The device will run on Google Android 4.0.3 ICS and will support 3G connectivity via a USB dongle. This seems like a bit of a letdown considering Zync launched the Z999 Plus and iberry launched the AUXUX AX03G that supports 3G via a SIM card.

Apart from the tablet, Karbonn also launched 3 phones. The a9Where to buy 25184, A7 and a5Where to buy 4990 5993 15993.

The karbonn a5Where to buy 4990 5993 runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread, is powered by an 800MHz processor, and has an 8.9 cm (3.5-inch) touchscreen display. The device also supports 3G with maximum download speed of 7.2mbps. The A5 runs on a 1420mAh battery and expandable memory up to 32GB. The A5 is a dual-SIM smartphone and is priced at Rs. 5,790.


Karbonn A9, A7, A5

The karbonn a7Where to buy 5520 runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread, is powered by an 800MHz processor, and has an 8.9 cm (3.5-inch) touchscreen display. The device also supports 3G with maximum download speed of 7.2mbps and has a 5MP rear snapper. The A7 runs on a 1420mAh battery and expandable memory up to 32GB. The A7 is a dual-SIM smartphone and is priced at Rs. 7490.

The Karbonn A9 is the most expensive of the 3 phones launched and runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread, is powered by a 1GHz processor, and has an 9.7cm (3.8-inch) touchscreen display. The device also supports 3G with maximum download speed of 7.2mbps and has a 5MP rear snapper. The A9 runs on a 1600mAh battery and has expandable memory up to 32GB. The A9 too is a dual SIM smartphone and is priced at Rs. 9,490.
