UCWeb announces UC Browser for desktop

UCWeb has released the first public beta of its UC Browser for PCs in international markets. The browser has been launched in two versions- an Indian version and a general version. Users can download the UC Browser for PC Beta from pc.ucweb.com.

UC Browser for PC comes with features like Cloud Sync that allows users to synchronize open tabs and bookmarks from UC Browser for mobile, so that they can easily switch between UC Browser on mobile and PC. It has a smart file manager that categorizes downloaded files by type. It also has a preloading feature that loads photos and links automatically for non-stop browsing. Apart from this the browser also brings adblock, customizable speed dials and gesture support for users.

The Indian version of the browser comes pre-loaded with UC Cricket through which users can access the latest cricket news, scores, etc. The company which is the most popular browser in India with over 40 pc of the market share recently partnered with Facebook to bring real time notifications for Indian users. Globally UCWeb has over 11% market share, according to a recent report by StatCounter. The browser has more than 100 million daily active users.

Jerry Wen, head of the initiative stated, "In a recent survey of our mobile browser users, we found out that many of them who use a PC everyday are looking for a seamless cross-platform browsing experience on both mobile and desktop front. Apart from that, many of them love the features we provide on our mobile browser, and would like to use them while on their desktop. We gained our reputation through features that cater to our users' demand. We believe we can continue our popularity in the desktop environment by putting our users' needs as our top priority."
