After Airtel recently reduced its tariff for unlimited broadband Internet, it was only a matter of time before other companies followed suit. The net was abuzz with anticipation from MTNL to cut its rates on one of the Government’s favourite days for such announcements, August 15. And the public-sector operator did not disappoint…
MTNL Triband has doubled the speeds on all its current lot of unlimited broadband tariffs, with effect from September 1. Customers currently using the schemes will have their speeds automatically doubled at the end of the month; so if you wish to remain on your current speed and reduce your cost, call MTNL at 1504 and place the appropriate request.
Here are the tariff plans under the new scheme:
Speeds up to 512kbps – Rs 999 per month
Speeds up to 1mbps – Rs 1,599 per month
Speeds up to 2mbps – Rs 3,999 per month
Speeds up to 4mbps – Rs 9,999 per month
As is customary with all new schemes that it launches, MTNL is making it easier for new customers by waiving off registration, deposit, monthly modem rental and other such charges.
However, these plans are applicable only for MTNL Mumbai users. The company has not noted any such bump in speeds for its Delhi clientele, nor released any press release regarding the same at the moment.
