Belkasoft announces Forensic IM analyser

Belkasoft Forensic IM Analyzer is a tool that extracts instant messages and provides a clear detailed record of all conversations for your review

Belkasoft announces Belkasoft Forensic IM Analyzer 1.01. This tool extracts instant messages and provides a clear detailed record of all conversations for your review. The product is an invaluable forensic tool for law enforcement officers, crime lab investigators who need to extract everything a suspect wrote in the instant messenger in order to get indisputable computer evidence if crime committed.

Belkasoft Forensic IM Analyzer extracts history of messages for most popular messengers, such as ICQ (97a to ICQ6), Microsoft MSN/LiveMessenger, Skype, Yahoo! Messenger, MySpace IM, &RQ, Miranda, SIM, QIP, AIM and Google Hello. The messages can be extracted from IM messengers installed on the local computer, or history files stored on removable drives, CD disks and mapped network disks, including Encase drives. The latter option is helpful to forensic experts that copied the disk of the suspect and mounted it as a network drive to examine its content.

All information revealed by Belkasoft's tool can be exported into various formats - HTML, XML and TXT. It is possible to export all history to a single file or export history of contacts separately - one file for each contact. You can also export history for a certain time framework.

The advanced keyword detection feature lets you search through all instant messages for a specific word or a set of words - for example, "bomb", "device", "snow" - whatever you need. In seconds, the program detects and displays all the messages that contain this word and the user who the message belongs to. If you are an experienced user, you can benefit from search based on regular expressions, which is good for searching for templates or phrases with fuzzy structure. The search results can be exported to HTML, XML or TXT for later review.
