NFS: Most Wanted drifts onto Android and iOS devices

Speed junkies who prefer to get their gaming experience straight off their iOS or Android devices can get the new NFS Most Wanted game by Criterion Games straight on their phones or tablets. Xbox 360 users can enjoy the full-fledged console version already, though PC and PS3 users still need to wait a few more days to get the game, so they might as well weep in the meantime (PS3 and PS Vita releases are scheduled for November 9, PC for November 5).

EA officially released the game on both iOS and Android for Rs. 350 alongside its Xbox 360 version. The game, according to the official description is all about making you “Evade a relentless police force while you clash with street racers. Race and chase hot cars like the SRT Viper GTS, Porsche 911 Carrera S, Hummer H1 Alpha, and many more. Feel the intensity of no-brakes-allowed street racing with realistic full-car damage for the first time on mobile.”

The game is all about infusing high speed car chases with real world physics and stunning graphics. There are also the familiar 'takedown' mechanics most notably employed by the cop cars to stop the miscreants running rampant in the streets. The game also offers a choice of 35 selectable cars (most of which must be unlocked by completing challenges) which can be heavily modified, a concept we first saw in NFS: Underground.

Besides the engaging single player mode, Criterion Games has heavily invested in the multiplayer segment of the game, calling it the most engaging multiplayer experience ever in an NFS game. You can enter race events with other players by driving to certain sections of the city, which will feature different kinds of events (races, drift challenges etc).
