I dont know, may b overclocking capabilities are different for different pieces.
I mean some o1s can be overclocked more than the other.... so even on void i have never been able to oc more than 748 mhz... if i do so, either i get kernel panic instantly or the phone would freeze after sometime.....

CM7 does well on stock speed. angry birds lag even after OC. so in short, no use.

    Francisco Franco posted this updated ROM today... -- [ROM][KERNEL][26 MAY]franco|.v13.7|VR|CFS|SLQB|SMARTASS|TinyRCU|GPU +|.39| - xda-developers

He has done some serious stuff with it... You might want to check it out...

P.S. I am on Void Echo. Can I flash Franco's latest kernel? I have already flashed his P500 tweaks file... Is this kernel different?

    franco.Kernel.v13.7:

    • Kernel 2.6.32.39 from getitnowmarketing sources (old kernel was 2.6.32.9)
    • Compiled with the newest gcc 4.5.2 for performance increase
    • 3D driver: allocate uncached buffers as writecombined
    • 2D/3D driver: use readl/writel to access ringbuffer memptrs
    • ADD: V(R) I/O scheduler and set as default
    • V(R) I/O scheduler is now the default instead of BFQ
    • Added TinyRCU and now it's the default
    • SQLB memory allocator by default
    • 2D/3D driver patches
    • Touchscreen Melfas driver cleaned up for increased input responsiveness
    • Msm framebuffer (from mik's source)
    • Yaffs2 driver (from mik's source)
    • Update binder.c from CAF gingerbread tree (from mik's source)
    • Update lowmemkiller from CAF gingerbread tree (from mik's source)
    • Update pmem from CAF gingerbread tree (from mik's source)
    • Update timed_gpio driver from CAF gingerbread kernel (from mik's source)
    • Tun.ko module included
    • Added the the famous "200 line patch that does wonders" to our kernel: [Phoronix] Linux Hardware Reviews, Benchmarking, & Gaming
    • Increased the MTD block size from 512 to 4096
    • Compiler optimizations for further performance
    • Changed the Wi-Fi power management when it's on standby
    • Improved Wi-Fi internet speed through a change in the kernel config menu
    • Reverted AHB overclocking
    • Reverted ondemand update
    • 2D/3D drivers from andy's kernel
    • Lots of fixes and optimizations (too many to list here)
    • Wi-Fi ocasional rebooting probably fixed
    • Simple I/O scheduler added and it's on by default (previously was VR)
    • VR scheduler back to default
    • Revamped Smartass governor. This updated Smartass makes the phone a lot smoother
    • Lots of fixes and optimizations merged from andy's kernel and discussed together with him
    • Patch to hopefully prevent frequent kernel wake ups, therefore more battery life (thanks andy)
    • Camera should work now if you want to use this kernel with CM7
    • Other small things I might be forgetting
    • Lots of fixes and optimizations
    • Battery improvements
    • Added two new governors: InteractiveX and SavagedZen
    • InteractiveX is a governor based on the original interactive plus some tweaks and improvements and a sleep+awake profile, meaning you don't need to set up manual profiles, it will lock at your minimum frequency during screen off
    • SavagedZen is a governor based on the original interactive and smartass. It just works differently than InteractiveX and has a sleep+awake profile, meaning you don't need to set up manual profiles, it will lock at your minimum frequency during screen off
    • Black screen when unlocking when using any type of data2sd is fixed now
    • A little update to ext4
    • Lowmemorykilled backported from the .38 kernel
    • Wi-Fi power management changed to Fast
    Cheers!

Franco's void ROM ---> best battery backup
Mik's CM7 rom (beta 6.5) ---> gingerbread & good battery standby. but little buggy sometimes or you may need to reflash.
    Andy's gingerbread (RC2) ---> plain gingerbread.

all 3 roms are optimized for performance.

you can i think. but as always take backup. as the same kernel is compatible with CM7 so should support 2.2 too.
