Instagram has released a major update, at least in terms of the new feature, which now allows users to import pre-recorded videos into the app. These videos can then be cut down to the 15-second limit that Instagram videos adhere to. The user will have complete command over the trimming of the video clip. The version of the app is now at 4.1, and is available for iOS and Android devices.

The iOS version adds the Automatic Straightening feature. For any pictures taken via Instagram, a simple tap on the straighten icon takes care of removing any skewed angles or landscapes. For any picture that is being imported from the image library, the straightening tool is a slider, allowing the user to adjust the extent of the leveling out.

Video on Instagram is now available on smartphones running Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). Instagram 4.1 is now available on the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store. You can download the latest updates directly on your device via the corresponding application store.
